| ![]() The variant distribution is almost as wide as Seltos but the way it is laid out makes it much easier to understand. Also people are familiar with the E, EX, S, SX terminology used by Hyundai in most of their lineup. The S variant is indeed a good feature-set that should be in a sweet spot between having all the basics in place while also trying to make the car not too pricey. Only disappointment is the absence of Auto transmission on the S variant. Kia Seltos does have the automatics available in HTK+ variant, which is somewhat equivalent position in the range. The EX variant is not too badly equipped for being a commuter car, especially with the 8 inch touchscreen and most connected entertainment features one would want. Hope they price the EX Diesel under 10 lakhs - that would be a good option for a second car. Last edited by GTO : 2nd March 2020 at 08:37. Reason: Many typos corrected. ![]() Maruti Suzuki have redefined the concept of HSS altogether!! On a side note, I feel that Hyundai’s are pretty lazy in getting their cars crash tested. For example, look at TATAs, they got the Altroz crash test results out even before the official launch! Thus helping boost the confidence in the perspective buyers. The Venue which will soon be an year old in the market hasn’t been crash tested yet by GNCAP. | |

| ![]() I think the variant spread is brilliantly planned by Hyundai. They understand what the market wants. The 1.5 IVT SX and SXO may undercut the Seltos by a huge margin since seltos does not have a HTX+/GTX+ on this engine/gearbox combo. A 17-18 L OTR decently drivable fully loaded car will sell in huge volumes. Creta and Seltos I think are going to rule these segment for months to come. I can see the much more stylish and powerful Harrier struggling to sell the lower variants and potential customers moving to Creta/Seltos. Last edited by rkv_hunter : 1st March 2020 at 10:46. | ![]() Can anyone explain what exactly is "One Touch Cruise Control" ? Seeing the features, it becomes obvious that Hyundai and Kia have mutually agreed upon certain exclusive features for each vehicle at launch such as the Panoramic Sunroof, Paddle Shifters and Electronic Brake etc for the Creta while Kia gets the HUD, 360 Degree Cam etc. The Indian Venue shares the Platform with Santro (K1) which scored just 2 stars. It maybe deliberate that Hyundai is not interested in the Venue crash test. Note: The International Venue that scored 5 stars is based on a different platform (i20/PB). | ![]() I was going to book Seltos HTK+ diesel AT which misses out climate control. I guess will wait for Creta launch now and book s variant. I am not a fan of keyless entry, but that feature seems to have become a standard with AT variants in any segment. Last edited by sathish81 : 1st March 2020 at 12:34. |

Many have criticized the looks of the Creta a lot but seeing the specs, and keeping the cosmetics aside, the Creta appears to be an excellent competitive product to the Seltos. I would say it is easier to fix a 360 degree camera on the Creta while adding paddle shifters or panoramic sunroof are technically way beyond a normal accessory to add to the Seltos. So from that angle it seems that Creta is one up on the Seltos ![]() Last edited by vsrivatsa : 1st March 2020 at 16:44.

| ![]() I would have preferred tail lights looking like this. ![]() Hyundai is taking a risk going with such unconventional design. P.S : Sorry for the shoddy paint job. |

| ![]() Quote: The rear does not look that bad in the silver color. Although the tail lights are a bit wierd, the overall apperance of the rear is cleaner than the current version of the Creta - straight lines and clean shapes for the rear windscreen and the tail light cluster, versus the current Creta. The current Creta has wierd shape for the tail light which is over-extedned on to the sides and also it has 3-dimensional bulges facing backwards. However, the car looks quite low due to this linear design. Quote:
I believe this is where you do not have to switch on Cruise control and then press the SET button seprately, you could use the SET button alone to activate cruise control and simultaneously set speed at the current level. Similarly, you can de-activate cruise control with the CANCEL button, and do not have to separately switch it off. However, this may ;pose safety issues with mistaken activation or de-activation. Creta does not come with Automatic Transmission in the S variant! Clever but furstrating feature engineering! ![]()

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Given that the Venue now gets the same 1.5L BS6 Diesel motor, any news on whether this will come with an Automatic Transmission? I prefer the looks of the Venue over the new Creta by leaps and bounds. But I like the old Creta better than both! |
