Looks like most of the buttons are same as seen on the new sonata (except for the AVN and ACC). Steering wheel is also similar.

Thanks for sharing.
To me - this looks like a Chinese 3rd copy of (an already Chinese) MG Hector.

Hyundai seems to have a new design philosophy for its products in India - moving away from all rounder designs to adding quirky elements (first Aura and now this).

Good news for the sales team of Kia Seltos.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

For the first time in the history of Hyundai, Manual buyers are going to be the unhappy lot as the top end SX(O) is only available in Petrol Automatics. The addition of paddle shifters in the Creta is indeed a nice touch and differentiated it from Seltos, I am sure the Sales team is going to market it as a more sportier car. If people warms up to the design of the new Creta and it's positioned below the Seltos by any chance then I am sure the Korean brothers are going to make life extremely difficult for the competition taking the top two spots eyes closed. I am glad Hyundai has completely taken all the engine options along with Transmissions for Creta as well as Verna (1.0 Turbo) also, for the first time these guys are justifying the Creta over Verna by giving in the 1.4 Turbo.

Hope Hyundai will follow Kia in offering many variants with well proportionate features for the price like the Seltos. If they can undercut Kia's pricing they'll start taking customers away from their rivals until the XUV arrives.

And, unlike the Seltos, a customer doesn't have to deal with the DCT to opt for the top-end variant.

But, with features like panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake and paddle shifters over the Seltos top end - along with the established 'Creta' brand name, I'm expecting Hyundai to charge a fat premium over the Seltos!

A small query. Is it possible to release an electric parking brake in case your battery goes dead? If I am not wrong, it won't be possible to disengage an electric parking brake without adequate current. With brake engaged, it's going to difficult or rather next to impossible to tow such a disabled vehicle.
Scary if caught at a distant and secluded place.

Found this on the streets of Chennai. Have to admit the rear looked especially busy. This shade of maroon looked really nice though.

I think this kind of statement is a routine part of the news that does the rounds when a new model is launched. The objective of the automakers is to reduce weight of the car due to tightening emission and fuel efficiency standards. So they increase the percentage of high strength steel, which means they need only lower thickness of body panels. In effect, the overall structural rigidity or impact resistance does not change, you just get a lighter vehicle. This is why the newer generations of cars like the Octavia, Civic etc. feel more tinny and light, although the overall crash test ratings have not suffered.

That is a reasonable feature distribution.

I wonder who at Hyundai decides these variants spread! It's crazy to deprive customers of all the features in certain engine / model specifications. I too faced a similar issue when I purchased the 1st gen Creta in 2015. There was simply no option to purchase the Petrol MT in the SX(O) trim. All-the-more, the SX+ trim had a hell lot of missing features as compared to the SX(O).
Why can't they just give all the options and let the customers decided whether they want to pay for the same or no. Typical Hyundai!

The feature distribution seems perfect. The major misses would be an infotainment system in the base variant and 360-degree camera setup in the top-end variant. Hopefully, they don't price it an exorbitant premium over the Kia Seltos.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

In the Creta's case this time, I feel Hyundai has played it rather smart. I just went through the entire feature distribution and seems like they don't want to hurt the sales of Seltos and no matter how much both Kia & Hyundai denies, I feel they're planning the basic strategies together. As what Creta looses, Seltos gains and vice versa both in terms equipment variants along with the engine gearbox combination or maybe Hyundai is just improving it's strategies and doesn't wants to loose to it's own sibling.

The following details came into my notice, Please add if you feel I've missed a point or two :-

1) The Automatic Variants are only available in the top of the line trims. For lower variants you've to opt for manual or Seltos AT.

2) The Creta will still appeal to Self Drive Car Rentals and Fleet Operators hence the addition of the base E variant whereas the same variant isn't available in petrol. Also, the base Seltos is better equipped hence a lower sticker price of Creta.

3) The 1.4 Turbo engine is only available in 7 Speed DCT whereas Seltos has it in lower trims as well as it comes with an option of Manual as well.

4) No top end Manual option in 1.5 except the diesel, hence again, Seltos becomes the alternative choice.

5) Better Equipped SX & SX(O) variants makes it more appealing to the customers hence they can charge a premium over Seltos whereas keep the sticker price lower for EX and S under cutting Seltos making it look more Value For Money.

6) Furthermore, I feel, Creta will be positioned above the Seltos as if one looks closely the S Variant except the Alloy wheels gets everything one needs in day to day drive. The advantage of no AT in this particular variant will keep the price similar to HTK+ or HTK of Seltos but it would feel more premium in terms of the overall appeal thanks to the packaging. (Assuming) also, the Creta looks larger compared to Seltos.

Sad to see 'Adjustable rear-seat headrests' being limited to SX and above (top 2) trims. Even in current generation Creta (as per brochure), it is available from EX trim.
Features that are present in lower variants (that Hyundai (and many others) consider as less premium compared to rear headrests) are:
1. Projector headlamp
2. 8.0-inch touchscreen
3. Arkamys sound system
4. Automatic climate control
5. Cruise control
6. Keyless entry and push-button start

Three (or more) member families will find it hard to go for an almost 15 Lakh car without read adjustable head-rests. And will be pushed to go for the higher variant. to XUV300 for providing this from base variant.

Also, automatic variants are limited to top trims only. Yes, it was expected looking at current gen Creta and Seltos variants.

Happy to see 'Rear wiper with washer' at least in the middle variant (S). Lower variants do get good kit. SX is really well loaded and that Sunroof can be expected to pull in large crowds.

What is 'Auto light control'? Automatic head lights?
