Re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

The E does not have any audio system at all this is unexpected when the likes of Seltos HTE even gets one. Now if someone does buy the Creta E how will he fit speakers/system to the car. If you go through OEM it will probably cost 40-60K and 3rd party means kissing your electrical warranty bye bye. The same is the case for the base Harrier this is very bad in a musical world like ours.

I have not seen the Creta but it looks weird in pics and video would not prefer it instead of the Seltos.

Does anyone have the official accessories list?

Re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

Quick question, for the 1.7x lakh rupees difference between the EX petrol and the S petrol, what exactly are we getting in the S that's not in the EX?

I'm not sure if someone has already pointed this out, in the T-BHP News page, Petrol DCT is marked as 1.0 instead of 1.4 DCT. Hope this was a typo that needs to be corrected.

Paddle shifter in automatic variant of Creta is missing in Seltos. A useful feature in automatic.

Re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

So, in Bangalore, the On road would be around 19-20? Wow. Never thought Creta would get there but I guess with Seltos already in that bracket, this is Hyundai's plan to create the "Venue" bracket below it.

Price creep is amazing to watch.

Not a fan of sunroof but still would have liked the panaromic sunroof. Plus the Electronic Parking Brake.
But the day Creta was unveiled in AutoExpo, I decided it is going to be Seltos.
Interiors are also mediocre as compared to Seltos.
Hyundai Service is a plus but KIA is not very far behind atleast in metros.

Personally, I would still go for the Kia cause of the styling but the pano sunroof and automatic parking brake are tempting features.
And Creta misses out on the HUD. That would have been nice to have.

7) Brake Assist
8) 7 inch MID
9) Solar glass
10) Rain sensing wipers
11) HUD
12) Wireless charger
13) Leatherette pack
I find the SX IVT overpriced.
The SX manual is priced at ₹13.46 lakhs and the SX IVT is priced at ₹14.94 lakhs, a difference of ₹1.48 lakhs.

The SX IVT only has these features above the SX manual

1) IVT system...ofcourse
2) Electronic parking brake
3) Air purifier
4) Drive mode select
5) Traction control modes (not going to be useful for most people in India)
6) Paddle shifters

How do these features justify a premium of ₹1.50 lakhs?

My thoughts on seeing the pricing today :

1) For people wanting to buy a manual transmission with the 1.5 L engine should go for the Creta SX manual over the Seltos HTX manual

2) For people looking to buy the IVT transmission, they should choose the Creta SX IVT (SX IVT seems like a better package even though it is priced higher than the Seltos)

3) For people wanting to buy the 1.4 L turbo engine, the Seltos seems like the better choice.
I prefer the Seltos because :
1) It offers six airbags even in the GTX version
2) It looks much better than the Creta
3) Blind spot camera, HUD, front parking sensors, 360° camera, Solar glass, rain sensing wipers, etc. are more useful features than a panoramic sunroof.
4) Electronic brake, auto hold and paddle shifters offered in the Creta are good features to have

But given the fact that Seltos GTX DCT / GTX+ DCT are evenly priced with the Creta SX DCT / SX (O) DCT, the Seltos makes much more sense.

Would have been good if they had launched the EX Diesel version at 9.99 lakhs.
The Creta got extremely popular among the fleet operators, especially the self drive car rentals hence I feel in order to cater them and keep a low introductory price tag, the company has launched this variant. The current Creta too is available in the base trim in Zoomcar and others. Also, I saw a couple of fleet operators too giving the same variant for rental. As per them people prefer Creta more than vehicles like Etios, Honda City etc. The consumers feel safer in SUVs compared to sedans or hatchbacks on highway, felt like a genuine reason to me.

As per the official Hyundai brochure, LED taillights starts from S variant onwards.

Stylish steel wheels are those, where the actual steel wheels are designed like an alloy and along with the plastic wheel caps it gives the look of alloy wheels. Basically a method of cost cutting.
(If you remember, at certain point of time, the i20 Asta too was being offered with such wheels)
