I've managed to replace the reversing/backup light and licence plate light from halogen bulbs to LAD setup.

I've replaced them with Osram w5w LED and Philips Ultinon P21W LED.

If anyone is interested in doing the same changes on their Creta, please let me know. It is not exactly a DIY and needs little help from your FNG

Specs are not at all different but the problem is with sealed units and connectors.

With regards to P21W reversing lamps:
Reversing lamps have polarity in inverted order that do not allow plug and play LED bulbs installation. Hence, you can try changing polarity using instructions here(use Google translate):

I was not able to achieve the goal using above instructions and was having doubts with my limited DIY experience. So, preferred to take help of FNG, it was a 5 minutes job for FNG personnel.

W5W license plate light:
Here again, I was expecting it to be an easy DIY but I hit the dead end when lamp cover did not open despite removing the screw. Apparently, it was a little hard for FNG also since they were also not able to open it in first go. After some time, they figured out that it is a completely sealed unit and needs to be pulled downwards using pry tools. They managed to scratch the area around lighting a bit in the process also, but thankfully, the scratched surface is not visible unless boot is opened up.

Not too different actually. Here are the specifications from the owner's manual:

Head lamp (non LED): HB3 (60W)
Front turn signal: PY21W
Front fog lamp: 881 H27
Stop lamp: P21/5W
Rear turn signal: P21W
Reverse Lamp: P21W
Registration plate lamp: W5W/T10

A interesting reveal in this upload. The rear bulging shape on the boot is a plastic part which came off as a single unit on a hit. The snaps in the video look real. Can owners confirm?

Such 'cladding' is 'first of its kind'. They have used this to bulk up the rear. Auto/Tata Ace guys anyways brush this part often, so I don't have to get body work done, in case of impact. Interesting new technique there

Yes, that's correct, plastic panel is held in place using 6 bolts and about 12 clips. The whole unit from stop lamp to camera/license plate lights is removable. My FNG had opened the interior panel of boot to see the licence plate light connections but he was fumed when he saw another metal panel behind this plastic panel. The plastic panel has only connectors and wires and has a lot of empty space inside.

On a side note, rear bumper of Creta has slight bulge outwards and I don't think you need to worry about plastic panel scratches /breakage unless heavy vehicle hits it directly.

I feel ex base petrol is very reasonably priced for customers with budget limitations and limited usage. Covers all basic features.

I have booked a Hyundai Creta 1.4 DCT SX(O), which will be delivered on Oct 23rd 2020.
I will post about selection, buying experience, initial impressions later after I get the car delivered.

Does anyone have any suggestions on accessories from Hyundai or otherwise which will be useful?
My running is about 1000 kms per month, should I buy extended warranty or simply re-term the 3 year unlimited warranty to 4 years & 60000 kms or 5 years & 50000 kms.
Suggestions are welcome, please state your reasons too.

A lot of people are going for change in alloy wheels, what is the latest cost for exchanging to the diamond cut alloy wheels?

Always buy as much warranty coverage as you can. This is doubly important as you are buying the DCT. Considering your limited usage, the 4 year 60000km pack is ideal.

My advice would be, TAKE THE MAXIMUM COVER POSSIBLE.
For your kinda running, I think the 5 years / 50k KMS makes sense. But in any case if you feel that you might cover over 1000 KMS a month, I would recommend the 4 years / 60k KMS package + additional 5th year / 100k KMS warranty which should come to about 12-13k IMHO. But trust me, your peace of mind is worth much more than that! Not to forget, your car has two brand new tech. which are the most critical components i.e. the 1.4L Turbo engine & the DCT box.

Yes it costs only 12-13k for actual extended warranty. I was trying to be clever and save that, I think I should look at safe guarding 20+L rather than being clever with 12 or 13k.
