Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

I believe some sense prevailed at Force Motors with the design. The interiors are looking way better than the current ones. Honestly, going by the pictures, I feel the quality of plastics is a big letdown. The headlamp designs along with the kitted out versions look good.

I am not a big fan of the side facing jump seats at the rear, wish they had left it open as storage space, it would add much value.

The million dollar question though is the driving dynamics and ASS support. While the former can be handled, the later will require numbers for them to make a concerted pitch. I hope Force is looking at feedback to make this product mainstream

Glad to see the Updated Gurkha. Wonder why did FM go back in getting the FM 2.6 CR engine again in the Gurkha? What happened to the FM 2.2 CR?

I was hoping the poorly powered 2.6L would be EOL'ed and replaced across the board with 2.2L and with volumes would be competitively priced!

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

Till they provide a ladder to climb in along with that custom Gurkha? The first image of this thread shows a guy who's of average height (My guess 5'5" to 5'8") and the door handle is upto the height of his head. On a serious note, it looks mean.
E-traveller looks neat too like most of their other exhibits.

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

The customized Force Gurkha looks extremely mean and a true beast. However I feel most of the modifications are and will in the future become illegal.
One downside which I can see is the vehicle height. The shape is too boxy and the vehicle is very tall, thus increasing the centre of gravity. A slightly longer body would compensate the height. However this for the off road experts to decide. Waiting for the detailed review once it is launched.

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the tyre sizes are too small for all vehicles, except the Gurkha offroad? Maybe its the wide angle photos, but the wheel sizes on the Megabus, especially look tiny on this bus. The Panel van also needs a higher profile tyes

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

Hello TusharK,

In one of the images of rear differential and the rigid axle, you have mentioned the anti-roll bar. Just to correct you, it's not anti-roll bar. That one is a Track bar or Panhard rod, which attaches to one side of the axle and the other end is attached to the body directly. The function of the same is to prevent/restrict transverse movement of the axle. Please go through below image link. Here you'll see the difference between Anti-roll bar and Track bar. Usually you can differentiate the both by the fact that anti-roll bar has two connections to the axle, whereas track bar has just one (other side will be atatched to body as said earlier).

Also a proper off-roader should not have anti-roll bar (or for that sake a beefy anti-roll bar), because anti-roll bar itself is encorporated to balance the diplacement of both side suspensions, which is not desirable in an offroader which needs lots of wheel articulation. Many costly offroaders have disengable anti-rollbars, for extreme off-roading at one end and for normal rods to check the rolling movement of the high riding body.

Let me know if I wasn't clear enough.

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

What I love about Force Motors is that they "TRY".
While other manufacturers like MSIL just showcasing cars with White/Silver body kit, Force Motors have gone miles ahead by engineering the 'Mean Green' completely mad and brutal version of the Gurkha.
Even if Gurkha looks like as if its copying G-Wagon, Force model didn't stopped there, they brought in proper off road suspension, Tyres, Portal axles, Rollbars, to give it its own identity. Kudos..!
And you'll probably start seeing that T1N concept van in IT cities as staff vans, etc. A practical and feasible concept.

Re: Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020

I don't understand the reason for going back to 2.6 engine. The new-gen Thar will come with the 2.2 MHawk block and have a big advantage over the Gurkha. For someone who manufactures engines for Mercedes, how difficult is to get the 2.2-litre diesel engine BS6 complaint?

Things are always half baked with Force. But they hang on and keep trying. This trial and error approach will be possible as long as the Traveller and Toofan bring them consistent volumes. The day is not far where Tata and Mahindra will take a serious shot at that volume. Already it seems Tata is trying to take on Traveller with the new Winger.
