2. Larger 10.25 inch touchscreen,
3. Sunshades on the rear windows,
4. Digital dials,
5. Ventilated front seats,
6. Paddle Shifters (DCT only)
7. Drive Modes (Automatics)
8. Ambient lighting ( not sure if present in the Tucson)

Tucson features in comparison:-
8 inch touchscreen
More powerful 2.0L engines
More space
Electric tailgate

The segments are different but I feel someone looking at a Creta top end will definitely be willing to cross shop from the higher segment as well having the likes of the Karoq, Tucson, Compass and T-Roc. Compared to its chief competitors other than more space and power the Tucson has nothing going for it!
This model of the Tuscon is at the end of its life cycle. The entirely new model is due for 2021 incorporating the new design language and all the latest bells and whistles that Hyundai is known to include in their premium offerings.

The disparity of features if any is simply because of the difference in when the models get updated. The Creta will have nothing on it once the next generation Tuscon arrives sometimes next year world wide.

I don't see anyone buying this model of the Tuscon.

No offence to any current/prospective Tucson Owners

Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Cheers
You can argue about the pricing for the entire segment, but considering that Tucson and some of its competitors are assembled/CBU, makes them a segment higher than the Creta. In addition, Creta may have cosmetic features but the Tucson looks like a more purposeful soft roader. And with the AWD Diesel, it is definitely superior to the Creta.

Hyundai Tucson Facelift launched at 22.3 Lacs

Hyundai has provided an updated fascia to the Tucson which helps to bring in a fresh appeal to the SUV. It gets new LED headlights along with an updated bumper design. The modified cascading grille looks larger and bolder. At the rear too, there are updates to the exteriors. The SUV gets revised LED tail lamps and even a modified tail gate. Design of the alloy wheels has also been upgraded which adds on to the style quotient of the SUV.

On the inside, customers will be greeted by fine quality of leather upholstery and multiple gizmos. Like most Hyundais, the 2020 Tucson comes loaded with creature comfort features. These include a large 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system which will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, 360 degree camera, power adjustable front seats, wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, multi-function power steering, rain sensing wipers, Hyundai Blue Link connected car tech and much more.

re: Hyundai Tucson Facelift @ Auto Expo 2020. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 22.30 lakh

You can get a fully loaded Tucson 2.0L Diesel 2WD with new 8 speed box for the same price as the Karoq (50K more).

I know the Tucson is old but this is a pretty compelling package vs the Karoq. ITs much larger and spacious and has good punch with that 2.0L diesel and engine. The 8 speed box also is supposed to be much better than the older 6 speed.

Only the front ventilated seats are missed as they are there even on the half priced Verna but not on Tucson which is a bit of a put off. Rest of the car looks good and feature packed. Would be interesting to know how this 8 speed auto performs vs the 6 speed previous one had.

Would you have gone for the Tucson 2.0 L Diesel 2WD instead of the Karoq?

re: Hyundai Tucson Facelift @ Auto Expo 2020. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 22.30 lakh

The Tucson, to me, appears to be a great soft-roader in terms of space, features, power and adequate capability to tackle semi/urban, highway, rural parts of India in better comfort relative to the big boys like the Fortuner/Endeavour, especially with AWD. In that sense, I feel it is also competitive with Compass 4x4 AT, and a bit more comfortable and spacious.
I am veering towards a one-car-fits-all purposes in the post covid phase. Both the Compass and the Tucson look attractive.

re: Hyundai Tucson Facelift @ Auto Expo 2020. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 22.30 lakh

The Tucson facelift has been launched at Rs. 22.30 Lakh and above.

https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...30-lakh-415673
  • 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines now upgraded to BS6-spec
  • Diesel engine gets new 8-speed automatic gearbox
  • Updated equipment list includes new 8.0-inch touchscreen and connected car tech

To me the facelift brings marginal value, other than the new 8 speed transmission in the Diesel, there is nothing much to speak of that the car already did not have. It is an ageing model introduced in the US in 2015 or so, and bears no resemblance to the new design language we have seen in the Genesis and the new Creta.

How difficult would it have been to include the new gen Creta's gear lever in this iteration? The Tucson's gear lever is just so plain jane.

Wait for it, they will ruin it completely during the next generation launch. This one remains good just because this was a mere facelift to the existing one.

You have a valid point.

But I would have a closer look at the Tucson than the Karoq if I was looking.

The Karoq for 25L ex is good but when you see the 1.5L TSI engine + missing features then its a tough sell for 30 big ones on road.

The Tucson would only be due to brand image and not the product per se. It drives very well since it's more euro and american than Asian spec.

In my case, I knew the Karoq was coming around but still went for the larger Kodiaq since I felt the Karoq was a little too compact for my liking.

My ideal choice would be the regular sized Tiguan (not the allspace variant) with 2L TSI engine.
