Skoda premiered the Vision IN concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. This mid-size SUV is the first product developed under the ‘INDIA 2.0’ project based on the MQB A0 IN platform.

The Vision IN is powered by a 1.5 TSI engine delivering 148 BHP & 250 Nm. It has a 7-speed DSG transmission and front-wheel drive. Claimed 0-100 km/h time of 8.7 seconds and top speed of 195 km/h:


The Vision IN’s Skoda SUV family resemblance is clear at first glance:


The Vision IN has a straight roofline and buffed aluminium roof rails. The sides feature three-dimensional "tornado" character lines and plastic cladding:


Measures 4,256 mm long and 1,589 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,671 mm:


L-shaped LED tail lights and horizontal reflectors. Crystalline LED light bar runs between the reflectors. Bumper gets an aluminium skid plate:


LED headlights with crystalline structures. Glass elements surround the LED low beam and high beam and an L-shaped LED module for the daytime running lights and indicators. LED fog lights are arranged below this:


Grille features double vertical slats. Both the frame and the slats are made of lead crystal and have LED illumination:

Dual-tone dashboard, three spoke steering wheel and floating 12.3 inch infotainment head unit. The car makes use of vegan as well as recycled materials. The floor mats are made of Piñatex, while the pineapple leather, is a leather-like fabric made from waste pineapple leaves. Features include an individually configurable Virtual Cockpit and shift-by-wire technology. The gear selector is no longer connected to the 7 speed DSG mechanically. Instead, it relays which gear has been chosen electronically. The selector lever has been replaced with a small rocker switch. The car gets an electromechanical parking brake. The space saved due to the omission of the traditional handbrake has been used for new storage compartments.:


Decorative crystal ornament on the top of the dash is actually the control for the digital assistant:


Orange and black door pad with crystal insert. The crystal is a reference to the Czech art of glass cutting and the rosewood is a homage to indian art of textile stamping using rosewood stamps:


Electrically adjustable seats with memory function. Don't miss the fingerprint recognition for the memory:

This one merely looks like a concept car. It's more of a production car (save for the tiny bits).

The memory function of the seats with a fingerprint sensor seems funky. Although wonder if it's going to make it to production.

Coming to the front, I'd have really loved if the headlamps were placed low within the side vents(say Harrier). It's just a personal taste tho.

I really hope something happens & they change their mind on the red reflector (hopefully just a reflector and not LED) line running from end to end on the rear. Makes a fantastic car looks like a toy! "German to Chinese in 1 plastic piece".

The panoramic sunroof seems to be a trump up the sleeve. And it seems to be a non-opening Sun/Moon roof by the looks of it. I just LOVE these. I had an end to end glass like this in a Peugeot 308 SW couple of years ago. And it was a joy. My 1 year old son also appreciated it a lot.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Skoda Vision IN launch. I so want this car to be a success. Really love the design on the SUV with bold crease lines on the the bonnet and those sleek wrap - around headlamps. The same sharp theme continues on the side profile and at the rear with boomerang C shaped tail lights and that clean chiseled look. The rear to me looks more appealing than the karoq except that LED/Reflective strip.

Hyundai/Kia have shown how they can offer cars without cannibalising sales of each other , hope Skoda / VW can do the same.

Hope Skoda price it well and coupled with there famed build and overall quality it is bound to be a hit! Fingers crossed.

Definitely one of the most anticipated launches for sure and looks like a winner already. Expecting Skoda level quality, Ride & Handling and Feature offerings, without any cost cutting measures. Remove the rear reflector on the tail gate, the exterior design would be perfect IMHO.

One of the big monkeys on the back for Skoda is A.S & S. More than the price, I'm hoping that Skoda comes out with an unique package for service and maintenance at time of launch.

The sharp design is expected of Skoda, but in build it needs to be seen how the India-spec platform is going to perform. Is it only for cost cutting that Skoda did not want to bring Kamiq to India as such and build it here? How does that go with Skoda's own expansion plans in the Indian market?

In spite of the good looks and features, it will have to be still seen if Skoda/VW can sell like Hyundai/Kia, especially when Skoda does not have a diesel mill to offer in whatever the Vision IN is getting christened.

They need something to differentiate this from the expensive Karoq. Rest of it looks very similar, at least to a non-Skoda guy like me.

Looks sharp and edgy beyond any other Skoda models so far! They have taken the “crystal” design theme to the limit. Agree the red strip at the back is overdone and could have been avoided.

There are a number of elements here common with the new Hyundai Creta, for example, the headlamp design that looks to form a triangle with multiple elements separated by sheet-metal, the deep projecting crease running through the back where the lower part of the body is in-set from the upper part etc.

Given how long the Skoda’s Vision N SUV has been in development, it is not hard to guess who copied from whom! One can see how fast Hyundai is - they have taken the idea of edge to edge deep crease at the back and released the same look in the Creta even before Skoda finished submitting their sketches!

While they have speed on their side, where Hyundai loses out is coordination and integration of various design elements. The sweeping curves in the massive front grill of the Creta just do not go with the edgy designs in other parts of the car. So it ends up looking like a school kids’ exam answer book where answers to different questions have been copied from many different kids.

If you have seen Skoda Vision X concept on youtube, The now split C shaped rear lamps, the bottom part is not a full-sized reflector, but the ends act as a stoplight and aren't just reflectors. IMO, These split rear lights look cool to me.
