Console feels really dated, if they could bring the Scorpio-N's dashboard to the 300, it may have tempted me.

I'm patiently biding my time for the Slavia RS or the Monte Carlo. Or even the Verna facelift, rest of them do not make sense

Xuv300 is already a powerful csuv. This is set to become more powerful. 130bhp and 230Nm torque is no joke. It will be a monster.

This is a proper special edition with performance improvements, unlike the Tata editions with cosmetic changes. I hope they sell well and not bottom out like the JTP twins.

130 BHP isn’t outright crazy, but this car would definitely be sexy. The colour doesn’t seem to be too tacky, unlike some of the other matchboxes found in the same category. De-chrome and black-wrap the entire car, swap out the rims for some MOMOs, slap on some Biletein shocks, remap the hell outta it, and you’ve got yourself a proper sleeper.

XUV300 already is the most powerful car in its segment against Nexon, Brezza, Venue or Sonnet. Now its petrol engine becomes stronger with 230 NM torque and 130 HP power. This is giving Creta and Seltos a run for its money with almost similar power with cheaper costs and better safety ratings. Except of course, the interiors still seem dated as before and the boot space issue cannot be fixed unless it takes the frame of XUV400. Also the color combination with red inserts are just poor taste, not every red insert is done well with sports tag.

Credit to Mahindra to actually tune up the engine along with cosmetic updates, unlike other companies who just work on updated stickers and colors and badge it as "Sportzzz" . This car has so much potential and its good that Mahindra is stirring up the space a bit.
Even though AMT wouldn't be the choice for a Sports version, hope they launch with some performance tuning to go with updated power figured. Wishful thinking I guess.

Funky colours look cool in smaller cars (at least I feel so, some may not agree) This golden colour with red inserts will not help sell the car at all, power figures might be one of the selling points. MnM are trying to keep sportz variant unique from regular XUV3OO, but this colour is definitely not desirable

They could have or still they should bring in the XUV400 ( based on original Trivolli) ICE version with proper automatic gearbox. Mahindra don't have a product in this category. While EV is the way forward, you need to look at the present. At 130 BHP and 230nm it should be adequate for the 4.2 metre car. Yes prices would go up substantially cause of the increased taxation and proper automatic. That's the risk they have to take. Before EV's they need to increase market presence. Ohh yes ! They need a factory too !!!

In-terms of torque definitely, but in-terms of power? The current petrol motor produces 110 ps(108.6 bhp), I think! This is lower than what Nexon produces, i.e., 120 ps. We also need to remember that kerb weight of top end petrol XUV 300 is 1352 kgs. So even with 130 ps, its power to weight ratio would remain lower than that of Nexon, Venue and Sonet.

Anyways, current XUV 300 with even 110 ps is fast enough. Smaller boot space, exterior styling and dash design along with AMT are some of the things which Mahindra should have fixed.

The car has been made to meet he sub 4m regulation (Ssangyong Tivoli cut down in size). They would need to overhaul the entire design and I dont think Pratap has the go ahead with that. Agree on the interiors part, that and lack of AT sound like M&M is pushing people to competitors.

If only they could integrate those dated DRLs into the headlights in a better way now! The 300 was ahead of its time - front and rear discs with a hoot to drive diesel that puts out more torque than a Hector! The 300 is a classic 'punches above its class' vehicle.

It was let down by dated interiors and the horrible boot. Hopefully a face-lift is in the works soon.

Is that XUV400 EV alongside XUV300 Sportz ? Bumper seems different than the EV reviewed by Team-BHP.
