To me, it looks a bit like the Renault Scala. Though I personally feel the Scala looked better!.

Maruti execs: The hyundai guys are making their cars ugly and people love it!

Let make our cars ugly too. We might be able to sell another 2 lakh of those.

Doesn’t it look like the old Hyundai xcent ?

The narrow , droopy front grill. This look may be ok for the swift which is shorter but does not work for the Dzire which markets itself as a Compact Sedan..

But hey who am I to comment , you will see this literally flying off the shelves when launched ..

Must be the name - Dzire !! How else can you explain the popularity of this piece of ugly design ?

Exactly what came to my mind too!

I quite liked the old DZire - to me, it was the best all-rounder in that segment without doubt, and the only real issue I had with it was Maruti's consistently bad track record with safety. Sales prove that the masses loved it too!

But with this one - looks like a change just for a sake of it!

I think this looks worse in the pictures than it will in flesh. Case in point being the S-Presso and the new Wagon R. Not that either of those two are lookers in anyway but they definitely look much better when seen in flesh.
Hoping for something similar on this one as well. Also the bling (read chrome), and DRLs should mask the droopy look to some extent IMHO.

As per this source, the new DualJet motor produces 90 BHP compared to the 83 BHP from the old engine. And it is just a 6K price increase! Great pricing if there is no omission of features, IMO.

This engine should be used in the Brezza as well. Venue with the same engine as in i10 (84BHP?) is priced around 6.7L. Brezza 1.5L Petrol starts around 7.4L without enjoying the tax benefit. 1.2L DualJet Brezza can easily undercut Venue.

Edit: I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the brochure. At least, I could not find it under the safety section of the variant distribution list.

Quoting from the Rushlane link posted by @Wheelguy

"New 2020 Maruti Dzire is offered with electronic stability programme (ESP), and Hill-hold function in AGS variants. This identifies skidding, and counteracts it, preventing vehicle roll-back on inclined slopes, in stop-start traffic condition. Front and rear brakes are bigger in size to improve braking performance, and brake life."

What the heck, I never thought Maruti will ever do this.

Will the Dualjet engine make its way into the Swift and Ignis as well ?

Hill hold: yes (only in AT), ESP: no

ESP and even collision avoidance systems will become mandatory in all vehicles. This rule was supposed to be implemented in 2022-23.

Re: Rumour: Maruti Dzire facelift could be launched in April 2020

As a current Dzire owner, I am feeling jealous!
The things which I wanted the most at the time of buying were the TFT MID, Hill hold and cruise control and all this is offered now.
I have a small question for you guys, can I retrofit cruise control?

Dzire website is updated with changes. Power figures are shown as follows. 66kw means 88.5 bhp. Seems a bit detuned compared to Baleno Dualjet.
