According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki might launch the Dzire facelift in April 2020.



The report states that the updated Dzire could get minor cosmetic changes including a new front bumper. Besides this, mid-spec variants could get more features.

The BS6-compliant Dzire is expected to be offered with a petrol engine only. It is likely to be the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder unit that produces 82 BHP and 113 Nm. The engine could be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.

At present, the Maruti Dzire is available in four petrol and four diesel trim levels. Select variants are available with an automated manual transmission.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets cosmetic updates and new assistive technologies like ESP, Cruise control along with a new 1.2L Dualjet BSVI compliant engine

For improved stopping power, the front and rear brakes will get bigger and the interior comes with use of more premium materials including wooden finish. Other key updates are auto foldable wing mirrors and coloured TFD multi-info display. The design changes are redesigned and bigger front grille, revised fog lamp housing and slightly sharper looking headlamps

If this news is indeed true, the following also may be true:

i. Since the Dzire is targeted, Maruti may be looking for some economies of scale and price it aggressively compared to the difference between regular and Dualjet Baleno.
ii. Response to Brezza 1.5Petrol is not as expected.
iii. Brezza may come with this engine.
iv. Indian Jimny also may come with this engine.

2020 Maruti Dzire facelift will feature the same 90 PS 1.2-litre motor, it will offer a mileage of 24.12 kmpl with AGS and 23.26 with manual transmission.

Diesel contributed to almost half of Dzire Sales. Eager to see the market response for petrol only Dzire.

Brezza Petrol did not get a good start based on Feb Sales. (too early say though)

DZire facelift spotted.

The already-droopy grill has become even more so. Lost the character of the face, IMO. A facelift for the sake of it. But that's how most of the facelifts by Maruti - change in the number of grill slats, position of the number plates, etc... The only exceptions will be the Estilo from 1.1L to 1L transition facelift. They have never given a comprehensive facelift like what Tata did to Nexon. I'll call that the facelift of the decade.

The only interesting thing will be the addition of the 1.2L DualJet engine.

On looking again, this seems a change for sake of a change - the sections look a rehash from their design bin. No fresh lines.

As usual a typical Maruti facelift includes :
1. Change the grill(good or bad)
2. New Bumpers (Both Front and rear)
3. Change the location of Fog lamps
4. Rejig few features
5. New Alloys
6. New Headlamps
7. New music system.

Guess we'll just have to get used to seeing a lot of that droopy, ugly grill out on the roads. No matter how ugly MSIL manages to make the Dzire, it will still continue to sell like hot cakes.

Looks like all the designers have left MSIL and the job of designing is left to interns or newbies who have little or no creativity and design just for the sake of it by mixing and and matching
