The silver inserts in the bumpers seem to have worked, they have reduced the visual bulk which was present earlier.

Any changes expected on the interiors too ?

On a lighter note - Wrap it, if the manufacturer does not give it. :D

But some cars from manufacturers deserves some funky colors.

For a youth-oriented car (weren't Maruti the first to go with 'millenial' marketing language?), the choice of colors was horribly bland.

It's a good package if priced right, toss in some extra features and a few bright colors to entice the target segment. Yellow, bright red (from the pre-facelift Baleno) and the blue from the Brezza. Leave the classy dark blues and neutral grays/whites for the family offerings.

Instead of silver, it should have been Carbon black fibre. Will look far better along with lighter colours than silver.

And get captured!

Front looks much better now. The rear part of Ignis is the one which is not that great.

Until they fix that inward angling rear profile I dont thing other changes will make it look any better.

Second car in the history of Maruti which was spoiled mostly by its rear design. First Ritz, now Ignis. But just like Ritz, it is loved by most of the people who uses it. Easy ingress / egress, good mileage, better visibility and good space inside. Real sleeper cars.

It needs not just tweaks in bumpers and lights, but a major redesign for the body shell if Maruti wants to sell this car in good numbes.

Then add an AWD system, sunroof, 360 degree camera, bigger fatter tyres, 250mm ground clearance, bright colour shades like Yellow, Red and Blue coupled with black plastic claddings all around - we will forgive you for not bringing Jimny here, Maruti.

I loved this car in every-way, liked even the quirky rear:). The AMT is a real pain to live with in the long run. I sold the car after about a year, only due to the AMT. My other car is a automatic Civic, so all the more reason for the irritation with the AMT. Thought I could live with it when I bought it, made a mistake and paid for it too.

Maruti should give this car a better automatic option, CVT or torque converter. This could appeal to a wider audience.

Cheers

But the real question is that "will maruti ever launch a facelift version of Ignis in India?"

Given that its not doing well(in maruti terms) and the new XL5(or nexa based WagonR) is in consideration to be launched, i don't think maruti has a spot for Ignis in its portfolio. Will they invest in two cars with almost similar proportion and identical engine to be sold side by side? If so how can they differentiate them in their pricing?

Ignis facelift spotted in India.

Looks like the "Facelift" surgery ended up being a botched nose and lip job.

Why is Maruti turning into Mahindra ? Is the application of toothed grill only way for SUV look. Completely ruined the clean look of Ignis.

That looks like Mahindra Imperio front facia.

They are making it look like the Brezza. Similar Grill and Skit plate designs.

Is Maruti launching the Ignis's lower/non-premium variant?

Something like Ertiga and XL6 where XL6 is Ignis and they are now launching the Ertiga of Ignis.
