Just a gimmik...
might seem like a gimmick, but its a useful feature.
wipers start/stop automatically and the intermittent position is automatically adjusted according to the intensity of rain/snow.
you'll see what i mean if you see the system work.

Its really good during the rains. But gets a lil irritating at times.

Had the same feeling with 200K C-Class on Pune expressway.

Hard to maintain? Which Honda are you talking about? The F1 car? Lol

I don't think the Accord is hard to maintain.

Another vote for Octi.

I like the muscular looks and european build. Octi looks more like a personal car whereas Accord looks like a complete family car. Both make similar statement, "This is one guy who knows his cars".

The accord is certainly more upmarketish especially with their new designs and also the octavia seems a whole class smaller in size. Even with the RS being just 1.5 less than the accord its pretty much a smaller car with nearly the same power and if its power for just about 2 more you have the V6. anyways i doubt you would actually throw either of these around? atleast not like a rally car.
ya but the new accord has a terrible suspension i feel and pathetic cabin insulation!!!

They`re definately not rally cars. But one can throw around the Skoda as it has that built and grip and a good suspension too.
Accord is ment for pleasant driving purpose.

I personally don't think any Indian stock car can been thrown around like a rally one. The so called good suspension on the RS wont even last a min of hardcore rally torture.

So my advise, forget the "RS" badge and stick to the roads.

I just have a doubt, how much power do you think was increased on the RS, by the Turbos? With TC it's 150bhp, what would be the figures without them?

A NA Skoda with a 2 ltr engine produces around 111-112bhp (thats 5.55bhp for every 100cc). Take away another 200cc and it might come down to say 100-102bhp max. So technically the TC would have upped the power by 50 bhp.

Now imagine a similar TC on a Corolla, Elantra or even a Optra. Boy are these cars gonna be fun to drive.

Corolla - 125+50 = 175bhp
Elantra - 125+50 = 175bhp
Optra - 115+50 = 165bhp.

Vtec - 106+50 = 156bhp LOL!!!

Well I just saw this thread and recently took a test drive of the RS and was mighty impressed, I think others have done a fantastic job of reviewing the car so I wont get into that but I would like add; the power figures by adding a chip is not just as little as 15-20hp but rather close to 50-60HP and that’s a hell of a lot and mind u this is just the chip no new air filters, spark plugs......etc, show me another car on the Indian road which can be tweaked to this level with just a chip upgrade.

Here are some links to prove my point *
http://www.starperformance.co.uk/skoda.htm
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl....nm.html
http://www.upsolute.com/eng/index.html

SKODA 1.8T=210BHP = giving a guy in the V6 accord a run for his money

This is only a chip and there are 1000 other mods for the skoda ALSO like the honda *like adding the dump valve for the turbo(this would be one kickazz mod) and ........do a google search and you would be pleasently surprised by the following the skoda has around the world.

Let me add that the RS in other countries, produces 180bhp. 210 - 180 = 30bhp, nowhere close to yor claimed 50bhp.

According to the site, a neuspeed intake pipe, free flow air filter and a new KO4 Turbo need to be fitted, in order to get the claimed 210bhp. No simple chip upgrade here.

Hi Shan2nu,

I assume you are talking about this site;
http://www.starperformance.co.uk/skoda.htm

Well look closely and you will notice that on the top of the page they metion the chip upgrade that up's the 1.8T150HP to 205=+55hp.
and below that there is the "1.8T 20V ENGINE ACCESSORIES" which would furthur add to the performance of the car.

There are many more sites which say what I'm saying one of the best skoda sites to check out it is http://www.briskoda.net (gobs of info here)

Shan2nu,

I dont really know what would be the exact increase with the new Turbo, air filter, and intake pipe. I guess add another 25-30HP *I'm assuming here that the new KO4 turbo they install would be bigger than the stock one's installed so ya 25-30 sounds rather pessimistic
