They purposely dropped the name Figo even from Aspire which was earlier named Figo Aspire. Calling it a new name infact got a lot more attention. Many cars with suffix cross (Liva Cross, I20 Cross, Urban Cross) had been introduced by then and all failed to bring substantial sales. In 2018 (end) there was rehash of variants and hence a lot of dealers did not have ready stock available. By far Freestyle was a competent product with attention to details much required in our country. Ford India loves these vibrant but odd colours on their cars. Remember the earlier maroon dashboard of Figo? Now this hideous looking Flair variant

No doubt about the competency of the product itself, but the point im trying to make is that it is incredibly difficult to get customers to recognise a car as an all new one, which very much looks like another car in their lineup. Also, you need to spend that much more in marketing when its a new nameplate. And Figo had decent credibility from its early days, my view is that customers would have related to the car better had it been a Figo Cross.
