The first images of the long wheelbase version of the Mercedes E-Class facelift have surfaced online.



The China-spec E-Class LWB facelift seen in these images has a chrome grille and redesigned front bumpers with chrome inserts. The re-shaped LED headlights have V-shaped LED daytime running lights. The car also has chrome trim around the windows and along the door sills.



At the rear, the updated model gets new wraparound tail lights with a chrome strip in the centre and a dual-tone rear bumper with chrome inserts and twin exhaust tips. The car is also sporting new design alloy wheels.

At present, the E-Class LWB sold in India is offered with BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine options.

What's a Hyundai frame doing in a Mercedes grille?

On a side note, a couple of my friends have spent extra money on putting "S Class grilles" on their E Classes. Earlier, with W210s and W211s, it was the other way round, we used to spend money on grilles with big star in the centre, calling them "AMG grilles" :D

Has Mercedes started rebadging Maruti cars now?
Looks similar to a Ciaz/Elantra with the Mercedes emblem on the bonnet.

Current one looks so good. What are they doing with new ones! Ugly.

This could be China specific for the LWB model, to add more bling. You can notice that the 3-pointed star logo is missing and the grille has too many horizontal slats.

This to me feels a downgrade in their design. Hope this design remains for the China market alone and just slightly improvise it for the Indian Markets.

But this is going to come to India.:Frustrati

The Chinese design looks like it would be more at home on a C class or a cabriolet than a long wheelbase limousine.

This is a rare new design from Mercedes that is hated. I don't like it either. The face somehow looks more "Korean" than "Mercedes". Worse still is all that excessive bling & chrome. The chrome treatment is way too excessive, including on the side & rear profiles.

The Germans were always known for keeping things classy. Wondering why they are applying such garish amounts of chrome. Even the 7-Series has that ugly chrome hockey-stick on the side:
