In case you are able to get the word across, here is a good suggestion to start with :

Please work on the photography department. Looking at the way most of the pics in OD are shot makes one realize that we have better quality snaps here on TBHP. One would expect better quality pics from a magazine. TopGear has amazing pics.

Funny thing is- they had an article on car photography sometime back. Which made it look like they are the best!

I thought photos were 'OK', but after seeing Top-Gear, i stand converted!

according to me the two best mags are tg & aci , aci is always ahead when it comes to exclusive car tests like the fabia test , also the tata nano story , they have the best equipment to test & give a verdict that i can rely on ,plus lately their writing & photography also has improved , tg is good because they have lots of international stories & with their innovative photography are a complete opposite to the serious roadtests of aci , they provide me reading entertainment . The rest of the mags are somewhat between tg & aci , so to be updated about the indian auto industry i buy aci & to read about the latest supercars plus JC i read tg .

Has anyone subscribed to ACI online? The site seems a bit dicey.

I think the best mag is Top Gear by far. The reason being (1) its glossy editions and (2) its high quality international content. Also it does not focus too much upon F1, and since I am not too much into F1, its suitable for me. Overdrive and BSM do a fair job as well, but are definitely second place.

Back in the day (2000-01) OD used to be good content-wise , even though the pics were no great shakes even back then .

But the write-ups were good and the person writing them seemed to have passion for cars and bikes with a bit of humour thrown in.

Havent read either of these in ages now , though by going through this thread , OD seems to be losing the battle.

what about Topgear?
it was first class when it was an all UK Magazine
I think it to be pretty good even in the Indian Edition
However, some of the puns used and the writing style somehow comes across as being a bit contrived - when a Brit like Jeremy Clarkson or James May uses certain expressions, they seem more credible somehow. But our own chaps, while some of them write really well and are very descriptive, tend to overdo it a bit in their use of expression.
I like Auto Car and Topgear personally but I tend to buy Overdrive also invariably because there is something interesting on the cover.

Overdrive was miles ahead of any other Indian auto-mag when they started out, but their standards have steadily fallen over the last 3-4 years, and drastically in the last 2.
In my opinion Top Gear is the best right now, just on the basis of their writing style.
