Voted for Autocar which I have been reading since the first issue. Same with Overdrive, but discontinued my subscription a few year ago. I do admit that Autocar has a slick presentation style, but sometimes the down to earth style of Overdrive is more informative.

Vow its ACI and ACI all over. Its my favourite too! But they must start with something about Vintage and Classic Cars. And also reduce those mostly unread Sports /Rally / Formula 1 pages.

Yes, their Fabia ICOTY aside, I have to admit that ODs test drive quality is improving. Very detailed & upfront.

I prefer Autocar because:
- Autocar has claissifieds for Vintage and Exotic cars/bikes
- Autocar doesnt exaggerate as Overdrive does.
- Autocar has more info and comparisons

My vote goes for Autocar. As many here have mentioned, Autocar has more Vintage and Classic coverage, which I love. I also find that the new car test drives are very unbiased and independent. On a more personal note, Hormazd Sorabjee gave me my first break as an amateur Vintage and Classic Car journalist, so I always have a soft corner for the magazine.

TIME Magazine dated 2.3.09 has an article by Walter Isaacson here:

How to Save Your Newspaper - TIME

A very relevant para is here which says something about where I think these rags have been long gone (bolds are mine)

Henry Luce, a co-founder of TIME, disdained the notion of giveaway publications that relied solely on ad revenue. He called that formula "morally abhorrent" and also "economically self-defeating." That was because he believed that good journalism required that a publication's primary duty be to its readers, not to its advertisers. In an advertising-only revenue model, the incentive is perverse. It is also self-defeating, because eventually you will weaken your bond with your readers if you do not feel directly dependent on them for your revenue.

Of the lot, Autocar India anyday.

Also another worthy contender should have been Top Gear (both International and Indian)

Nothing comes close to Autocar-india. It is a very well thought magazine and is improving day by day. Their work is really commendable.

OD should serioulsy work on the quality of their snaps, specially the postprocessing that goes into it. Still lags behind ACI, i feel.

Quality of pics in autocar is pretty good but top gear walks away with the best images award. Overdrive reply's on stunts for the drool factor. my subscription ended and i never got it renewed. It was good initially.
I don't see anybody talk bout CAR India and the still running Auto India.

You're right. ACI easily has the best photographers in the biz. And it really is important cos you can tell a lot about the looks and interiors from the pics
