The BMW X3 M, now launched at Rs. 99.99 lakhs

A test mule of the BMW X3 M has been spotted in Mumbai. The SUV is rumoured to be launched by the second half of this year.

The X3 M is a high performance version of the regular X3. It features a different front bumper with larger vents, 20-inch alloy wheels and different ORVMs. At the rear, the SUV gets a roof spoiler and dual-tone bumper with quad-exhausts.

On the inside, the X3 M comes with an M steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment head-unit, among other features.

The X3 M is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine that produces 473 BHP and 600 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system.

It's not a test mule but a prelaunch car with a wrap which is being shown to prospective customers at the dealerships. Has been doing rounds here in North starting from Ludhiana than to Delhi and now probably somewhere in South. Few of our members have driven this

This would be such a perfect car to own. Just the right amount of everything in my opinion. Also happy to know that it does not get the controversial full Digital Cluster of the new BMWs.

And thankfully they haven't yet screwed up the grille on it yet.

Have been really looking forward for this in India.

IMO the pricing is quite competitive, BMW India certainly is trying hard to dethrone Mercedes' position. In spite of increasing taxes and duties, they have tried to price it just shy of a crore.

The pricing seems very good for a car of this calibre. Will definitely sell in good numbers and this one doesn’t have the obnoxious grills so anyone in the market for a performance suv, grab it before they make this one ugly as well.

It seems to be a good price for the x3 M but more equipment would have been appreciated. Other than the M-sport embellishments and HUD there is nothing new. Harman kardon audio and 360 camera would have been appreciated at this price.
Even otherwise it seems a good buy for the price.

Fingers crossed for the 340 x-drive at 65 showroom price.

I think the pricing is steep. I hope MBIL doesn't get inspired and bump up the GLC 43 AMG pricing that is being launched tomorrow.

For a CBU and a proper M variant this is dare i say, a lot of bang for your buck or 'paisa vassol' if u may!

I'm surprised you say that since imo the price is REALLY competitive and the GLC43 doesn't compete with the X3M but with the X3M40i rather, which is not available in our market. Mercedes got the GLC43 via CKD route saying CBU would've been almost 1 cr... and here's BMW launching a car from a league above(+CBU) at the same price!
Same goes for X640i vs GLE53, Mercedes is commanding a 25/30L premium for same segment car and the Beemer will give the baby AMG a run for its money any day of the week. (despite not even being an M-lite). Let's hope BMW continues the trend & undercuts the C43 when bringing in the M340i in 2021!

43/53 series cars are fake AMGs while this is a real M car. I think the price is great for what you get.

Prices are competitive as this must have been imported with value less than 40K USD. That's attracts lower custom duty @ 60%. Beyond this value, duties are higher at 100% which explains missing options.

For some reasons, I am not fan of such soft-roaders. Agree that for our road conditions, these are better over low clearance sedans but getting an M car in such body is not something that will excite everybody. There's little visual difference over the regular X3 and no matter how well BMW has done, you cannot have the similar handling or the fun that you will have on an M2 or M4.

A quick comparison in International market, my pick in this segment will be Macan GTS but for the insane Porsche prices in India.
