Haha, good comparison. Trust Hyundai to make it acceptable looking. I doubt the 7 seater Creta is going to win any beauty pageants.
But it will be close to Innova in terms of pricing. Will there be enough buyers?

I wonder what power trains this car will come with to our shores - if it does. For a large 7 (okay 5+2) seater, diesel tends to be the fuel of choice. And the current 1.5 CRDi I feel is under powered. Its just about adequate for the cars in their current 5 seat avatar. They'll need to bring a potent 2.0L engine also if they come with 7 seats IMHO.

I mean okay - we had the Ertiga easily pulling 7 people on a tiny 1.3L 90PS engine. But then a Creta is not going to be priced on par either.

AND - this is now getting a bit stupid. Maybe I should add 2 fold-able picnic chairs in the boot of my Nexon and call it a 7 seater!

The above rendering from SRK has been heavily inspired by the Palisade, and thus seems actually longer than the one spotted in testing.

Now that Hyundai has anyway decided to make weird looking cars, I think the design or proportions are not the main concern.

Considering the volumes that the Creta commands, Hyundai has the money to develop a completely new 7 seater! Or possibly re-engineer this platform to accommodate 7 proper seats, at least to the comfort level of a Marazzo or something like that. If Hyundai does not increase the wheel base and just extends the rear it would be very uncomfortable seating for both the 2nd and 3rd row seats. And the boot will be non-existent. Remember, the boot space in Creta is already smaller than that of the Duster, just for reference.

Just like how Suzuki separated the Dzire from the Swift, by creating a design that was different from the A pillar onwards, Hyundai should try and create a 7 seater more intelligently, just not extend the Creta.

While the effort invested in rendering is appreciated, I think he's gone overboard with the length.
The render looks as long as, if not more than, the Palisade

This will be a blockbuster. This will at least add 3-4 k in sales pm. Just look at Ertiga & XL sales number. We Indian love extra real estate, if this is priced competitively this will even create perception of Create being VFM.

Oddly enough the taillights layout is a good match for speculative rendering.

Here is a much better and proportionate rendering with respect to the spy shots received. The rear overhang in the IAB rendering is more in line with the images surfaced online.

The third row will offer similar amounts of space as the Tiguan Allspace does which is not even good for some children!
The largest selling "7 seater" MPV is the Ertiga. As ugly as the Creta looks (5 seater), no where as insipid a design as the Ertiga and not as small dimension wise also (relatively).

If this does make it here, it will outsell the Gravitas many times over

The side profile looks more proportional on the 7 seater than it does on the 5 seater.

Frankly, I think this will be one of those "Loook Ma, I have 3rd row" like the Discovery Sport. It's there, but useful for kids under 5 years.
