re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

The regular 5-seater Creta looks much better. This one looks stretched, like a station wagon/Estate, which is not a good thing in our market. They must raise this car a bit to make it look SUVish.

Has a nicer looking rear end than the Gravitas.

Although this looks like a very proportionate and cohesive design, the render does not feel as if its based on the Creta. The side profile is completely different and I get a feeling that even the angle of the rear door frame, the roof shape etc do not match with the new Creta at all.

Beats as me as to why Hyundai cannot come up with such clean designs, a free lance designer seems to have a better better sensibility than the design team at Hyundai!

May not be the Creta 7-seater. Creta's A pillar-roof join is squarish, while this is curvy. I don't think they will do such drastic changes between the front end of 5 and 7-seaters. Even the C-pillar seems different from the spy shot in the opening post.

May be an SUV in the upper segments.

The location seems somewhere near Delhi (or UP. / Haryana). Whats a Hyundai test mule doing there?

Could it be the upcoming Maruti 7 seater SUV?

Well I doubt that. The alloy wheel design is similar to the 5 seater Creta and that design language is mostly used by Hyundai with their large cascading grille and rounded body. Maruti on the other hand makes squarish and boxy cars like the Vitara Brezza.

The test-mule in question is the Kia Sonet. The alloys and the B-pillar say it all. Attaching a picture for reference.

What is Hyundai trying to do with a 7 seater Creta? Are they planning on targeting the XUV 5OO? If so, they might as well as well forget it.

A 5 seater elongated to a 7 seater will never be as good as a car built as a 7 seater from the ground up (xuv 500/Scorpio).
The only saving grace that the Creta would have had is the name, Creta + or creta-7 would have brought about a certain familiarity.

This new name brings nothing. And it's not even a good name.

A name as ugly as the looks of new Hyundai Creta, IMO. Suits the car to the T.

Where are the days when cars are named with attractive, powerful and long-lasting names like Safari, Esteem and Zen?

This is a good addition to the range, a good alternative to the XUV 500 or Harrier. Hyundai doesn't really support their premium models once they are launched, this at least should be reasonably priced and since part sharing is given, should make maintenance easier.

It's a 5+2,so a large boot should be part of the package once you fold away the nearly unusable list row. 150 litres of additional luggage space won't hurt.
