Even if we assume the Brochure has a mistake, the pre-booking page can't be wrong. It doesn't list 7 seater top end!

This is what I was waiting for!

Thanks for your brief review on the Alcazar!

The only grouse with the Alcazar is an underpowered Diesel engine! I feel Hyundai could've introduced Tucson's 2.0 Diesel engine in Alcazar in order to compete with Safari, Hector Plus, and Innova Crysta!

And, since we are looking for replacement for our Innova, is the rear seat space and comfort of Alcazar comparable to Innova and Innova Crysta?

The variant we might go for is Signature(O) Diesel AT as our usage is high and mostly chauffeur driven! But, the underpowered Diesel engine is not much of a deal-breaker for us as the car is mostly driven sedate all the time!

If by rear space you mean the middle row then yes, it is spacious and comfortable but if you have 4+ Adults in your family, Crysta is the way to go. This car will not be comfortable for 4 or more adults (excluding the chauffeur here).

Given the fact that you are considering the top of the line variant which only comes with 6 seater configuration, 3 average sized adults will be the limit of this car (again, excluding the chauffeur here).

Feature wise this car definitely takes the crown but for comfort, power and seating capacity alongwith obviously the rock solid reliability and resale value of Toyota, Crysta is the way to go sir.

Thanks for your inputs!

Yes, middle row comfort is quite important for us and we wouldn't mind choosing 6 seater over a 7 seater any day!

But, the last row will be used occasionally whenever we go for functions and for other occasions!

And, it's not mandatory for us to have a 7 seater car and we are fine with 5 seaters as well!

And, if you don't mind, can you please share a pic of the black Alcazar, which you had seen in the dealership?

Really sorry but as much as I would have liked to, as I mentioned in my first post, I was specially asked not to take any pics as the car was yet to be launched. The 7 seater version there was in the brown(don't know the exact name) shade whereas the car I checked out, 6 seater variant was in the black. According to my liking, the black looked absolutely majestic as compared to the brown shade in the daylight.( Those black heavy alloys helped as well for the same)

Hi @HSR21
Did you get a chance to peek into the boot or whatever was there behind the 3rd row. I'm sure many people will opt for roof mounted carriers for this like the Safari.
Somehow I'm not too impressed with the interiors colours & design of Creta/ Alcazar. Were those soft touch (leather like material lined) or hard wearing plastics.
Surprisingly Hyundai & Toyota are able to sell most their offerings that matter to the company.

Sorry I couldn't, but according to the info by Hyundai, this seems to have the largest boot in the segment with all three rows up (180 litres).

Only the part where one rests their elbows on the doors is soft touch leather, everything else on the dash and doors are hard plastic. That actually felt quite cheap for this price point in an otherwise premium cabin.

Some more details about features, boot-space are out for the Alcazar, looks like they have been taken from a more elaborate brochure/video that is yet to come out.

Alcazar spotted undisguised being unloaded at a dealership.

A noob question: The container looks so narrow, how did the driver manage to open the door and get inside the car!?

Yikes. The front does not look great in white. Chrome galore on the grill - probably darker shades will look better.
The rear and side look is much more proportionate and better looking though.

Looks can be deceptive.

How else would the cars be unloaded, if not driven down the container by a driver.

By the way, the car looks great 'in comparison' to the Creta. I still prefer the Creta's rear over this, but in terms of overall design, this one is definitely better. The grill looks much better and I am digging those alloys. Before someone calls me out on alloys, I really like the alloys being offered on the 2021 Octavia L&K.

There's enough space for a thin person to slide from window glass and scoot out. In some cases the containers have foldable doors built in.

"Thin Person"
Nonetheless, drivers have to be extremely careful to avoid minor scratches/dents.

In scenarios where the door can't be opened, drivers open the boot hatch, get in the car and make their way to the driver's cabin, by climbing over seats.
