Infractions: 0/1 (4) | ![]() Surprised to see increased power output for Petrol engine to 152hp (wow). Below is the text sourced from Autocar india While the Alcazar does share quite a few mechanical and cosmetic bits with the Creta sold in India, it will not share the Creta's petrol engine options (1.5-litre NA - 115hp and 1.4-litre turbo - 140hp) but will come with a more powerful 152hp 2.0-litre engine that sees duty on the Elantra sedan and the Tucson SUV in India |

![]() Probably a few hours away from official launch but sharing few renderings that came up in Hyundai site. Gives a good idea about the interior layout and rear 3 quarter view looks quite good.

![]() Hope most of the rear overhang and a bit of space over the rear tyre will be used for boot area. The Safari has 2741mm wheelbase and if this has the same rear hang, it will be still have 20mm extra space inside. The space in the front could be more with short bonnet and cowl which could make it good. But looks like they will have a good chunk of the segment Last edited by srishiva : 6th April 2021 at 20:44.

![]() Sweet specs on the 2.0L petrol. Diesel option is a bit disappointing, but hey at least we can still get the 6speed AT! Hope they don't reserve the automatic just for the top SX trims. Edit : has the structure been actually strengthend? Can experts compare this with the Creta? Last edited by giri1.8 : 6th April 2021 at 20:57.

![]() A lot of people seem happy at the larger petrol engine but from what I recall reading from Tucson petrol AT review was that the petrol wasn’t exactly an enthusiast’s delight and was in fact quite ordinary. Of course perhaps there it stood out more because it was being compared to the larger 2.0 diesel but just wondering how will it feel compared to the Creta DCT in terms of peppiness (the reliability advantage of the TC is a bonus of course over the Creta).

![]() Now THAT IS a great post and kudos! A few quick points: Wheelbase - extended beyond the Duster family (which is approx 2670 mm). So then what happens to effective ground clearance and scraping over skyscraper speedbreakers? Diesel 1.5 - appears to be the same as in Creta with 250 nm (=25.5 kg-m), with a revised state of tune. Test drivers may please elucidate on the change in the state of tune and effectiveness thereof with the additional 200 kg + weight on-board! Suspension : appears to be the same with a bit of marketing jargon thrown in - Macpherson struts in the front and a torsion beam (with a fancy name) at the back (as far as I could interpret). So nothing rather earth-shattering there? Boot space - all seats up = 180 litres. So what gives with the rear row folded? Whats the boot space then and the recline of the 2nd row captain seats and leg-space? Again we wait for the assessments. The joker in the pack appears to be the 2.0 petrol. Its all depends on the state of tune and gearboxes offered. As to the pulling power/ gradeability of the diesel, etc - its given as a bit less than 18 degrees equivalent gradient. The 2nd row Captain seats do not appear to have better or great side bolstering, at least from an initial assessment of the drawings on offer till now. And of course, there is the Grand Fluff draw with all those awesome features on offer... Last edited by Rigid Rotor : 6th April 2021 at 21:39. Reason: additional points

![]() Nice job Hyundai! 2.0L motor will be having crazy power to weight ratio by SUV standards, 0-100 less than 10s says that. Lot of big things in that small footprint 2.0L motor, longest wheelbase, good cargo space with 3rows etc. Lighter than TUCSON by nearly 400KG, performance and efficiency will be similar to an ELANTRA. Expecting 50K-1Lakh premium over regular CRETA variants. Sad about people who have just bought petrol SUVs in the segment. Hyundai should reinforce the trust on their family and the platform with a decent GLOBAL-NCAP crash test result. Last edited by TorqueIndia : 6th April 2021 at 21:31.

![]() No way it'll be priced that narrower over the Creta IMHO. The competition is not against Ertiga or Marazzo. It is against the likes of Hector Plus, Safari and XUV 500. It also comes with 2.0L NA engine, which is a good choice. Expect starting price of around 14 lakhs ex showroom. Need to see who the Kia 7 seater competes against.
