re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

So, I was on YouTube the other day and came across a Paul Maric (CarExpert) video on the new Mazda CX-9 Limited Edition. It seems the Alcazar's central armrest for the rear seat is inspired by the one on the new Mazda albeit in a less fancy avatar. Have a look at some screenshots and if you want to watch the video skip to 9:39.

Any scope of further ‘scooping’ regarding the oil burner options?

Given that the all-new Tucson 2021 is not listed to be assembled in India and that the present face-lift Tucson is a CKD, it would appear that at some point the Tucson will be discontinued in India when those CKD kits run out.
I guess you are misinformed about Tucson

Sadly No. Will get Creta's diesel

Could you please elaborate a little more specific details on the petrol options please? What type transmission, power output etc?

Thank you.

Is it the camouflage or the wheels are actually a size smaller ? Stance looks good though. Looks like another 3k a month model for Hyundai It'll be surely loaded with features to cater all the types of buyers. Will be interesting to see how much premium they charge over Creta, which already is overpriced !

The car looks proportionate.
Hyundai will pack it with features to the brim. I wish it undercuts it's rivals
What price range are you guys expecting?

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

Is it me or does the silhouette resemble that of The MG Hector?

Car seems proportionate and will probably appeal to many customers as the "Bigger Creta". Knowing Hyundai it is sure to come with some segment first features and will probably sell in good numbers as long as they don't get too greedy with the prices.
Also wanted to know whether the current 1.5 Diesel is being sold in a higher state of tune in other markets?

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

A word on the design - Looks a decent job especially at the sides and the rear.

The front fascia (from the leaked pictures) looked fairly ugly - and I hope the actual one is better and less wierd. They should borrow front fascia cues from the Hector Plus - whose front looks generally classy, macho, SUV-like without going overboard on the chrome.

The alloy wheel design looks totally non-conventional and un-cool.

Hyundai makes decent cars - what is it with their wierd design language over the last 2-3 years. They seem to have mastered the art of coming up with polarizing and un-sophisticated designs.

Design apart, it seems to be a very practical product for the average urban family man - decent engines (hope they work ok for a 7-seat load), engine & cabin refinement, creature comforts, space, fuel efficiency (vs other 7 seat competitors). Wouldnt be surprised to see it do very decent volumes ! Got to hand it to Hyundai who perhaps reads Indian urban consumers better than most.

Is it just me, or is the resemblance rather uncanny?

I still dont like the excessive slant of the C pillar in the Alcazar. Notice how aesthetically proportionate it is in the Land Rover pic.

Although at this point, Hyundai should be more worried that there wont be any sales of their cars in Maharashtra for this month!

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

This will single-handedly dig the grave for both the Hector Plus and the Ertiga. I see a crazy number of Hector Pluses on the road nowadays and the Alacazar will only take this to the next level.

With a 2.0l and Hyundai features, any future entrants into the sub 25L 7 seater space are done for. The Safari might be spared since it is looks and feels much more SUVish and butch. Not sure about the new XUV500 though. If Mahindra goes for a soft roader approach then they will get hit by the Alcazar as well.

re: 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar launching in June 2021. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.30 lakhs

It's literally raining seven seaters!

Post the Tata Safari, the Alcazar and the KIA Sonet seven seater! Looks like this niche is expanding fast. Would be interesting to see how the sales split between 7 seater and 5 seater SUV in a while from now.

Drive on,
Shibu
