The new X-Trail features Nissan's V-motion grille with a large chrome insert. The car has L-shaped LED daytime running lights and trapezoidal headlamp clusters that are positioned lower down. The front bumper houses a hexagonal air dam and has a silver skid plate.

The Nissan X-Trail is called the Rogue in the US market. The SUV is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.

Lets hope Nissan brings the car with all bells & whistles with nice after sales experience at some good price point. The first X-trail was quite capable, if I remember right.

Best of luck to them!

Quite smart looking! Nice to see a well-designed Nissan car as most of their lineup has quirky styling. Nissan India should change its strategy. Instead of focusing on the lower end of the market, they should instead bring in neat cars from their global portfolio. CKD + good pricing + apt model selection would surely do them better than trying to fight Maruti & Hyundai.

Hope they don't call this 'Rogue' here in India when they reintroduce it.

Lazy Nissan needs this one and many more quickly. They just seem so reluctant to take those aggressive steps!.

Ah, the Rogue. I gladly owned a 2011 Rogue AWD ('S' variant) in the US for 4 years and it was a genuine pleasure. Quite rugged, yet polished. It's a lovely car.

Worse yet, it's called "Qashqai" in the UK at least. Why not call it "Sasquatch", one wonders?

Same thoughts they should bring products like this in India, have been in love with Patrol after seeing lot of them in Australia.

Nitesh, Kicks looks very good in real. Not so in pics, though.

Re: Next-gen Nissan X-Trail leaked online

I have been impressed by recent Nissan designs although the 2.5l and the CVT is just meh. I think its the least impressive engine in its lineup. In the same class the Mazda 2.5 skyactiv makes more power and is more fuel efficient at the same time, Toyota's hybrid powertrain is killing everything in that segment right now though.

Patrol is fantastic but it only comes with a 5.6l V8 petrol engine (a beautiful engine by all accounts), I dont think this will have any market in India. It is for the same reason that it doesnt sell much in Australia either. This segment is owned by the LandCruiser 200 series with the diesel V8.

Quoted consumption by Nissan is approximately 20.2 liters per 100 kms in urban driving or in other words less than 5 kmpl on premium 95 octane petrol, the recommended fuel type.

The Patrol was a local favorite among the offroading crowd in the Australian market. I use the term 'was', as that is no longer the case. The new Patrol is barely seen these days, more so the fact that it only comes with a V8 petrol engine, which ruins the appeal for the outback tourers.

Only when they had a diesel engine option. What does ruin the appeal is not just it being a petrol but also the fact that it needs premium fuel aka 95 octane.

That's correct. All in all, it isn't an attractive proposition anymore for people looking to head out to the bush, or even for the off-roading crowd.

Re: Next-gen Nissan X-Trail leaked online

At least a really good looking design.

Nissan will do well if they spend 5 minutes and a few dollars on the grille design. This chrome based open pout design that they have made some sort of a "family grille" absolutely wrecks the looks of the whole car, no matter how good the rest of the design is. It just doesn't blend with anything at all. A better grille with lesser chrome eye-sore will surely go a long way in making their cars look better.
