Nice. So less than a year since the launch they have added an AMT. Good move by Renault. Hope they launch the turbo petrol variant soon. Will make the Triber a more complete package!

Good move by Renault. Triber is one of the best vehicles launched in 2019 in terms of VFM. Bringing AMT + Turbo petrol within a year of launch shows how serious Renault is about this product. Wish they were serious in upgrading the Duster as well.

Good move. Pricing would be key, should significantly undercut superior Ertiga AT. A premium of 50k for AMT would be nice, anything more would be very close to Ertiga's territory.

Of course it will. There is simply no comparison between the two. Clearly different segments.

As we all know, there are grey regions between segments where higher variants of lower segments overlap with lower variants of higher segments. The more premium Triber gets the more it will be compared against the next segment benchmark.

Sometimes lesser choice turns out to be less frustrating. Triber has absolutely no competition in its category. The price at which it comes is simply awesome for somebody who is looking for a 7 seater. Now the addition of AMT will further enhance its longevity.

Rumour: Renault Triber AMT to be offered in 3 variants

According to a media report, the Renault Triber AMT is likely to be offered in three variants - RxL, RxT and RxZ.

The top-spec RxZ AMT is expected to get features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster and AC vents for the second and third row seats. The car could also get projector headlights with LED daytime running lights as well as a keyless entry and go system.

A leaked document suggests that Renault might launch the Tiber AMT on May 18, 2020. The car is expected to be powered by a BS6-compliant 999cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 71 BHP @ 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The engine is likely to be paired with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

The Triber is also expected to get a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine in the future. This engine is likely to produce 99 BHP and 160 Nm.

re: The Renault Triber AMT, now launched at 6.18 lakhs

It's a very talented car & an AMT will only expand its appeal. Good luck to a vehicle that is seriously well thought out. Only concern = the turbo-petrol should be here by now. The n/a 1.0L is quite lame, and will be even more so with an AMT.

I just hope they add steering mounted controls at least in the top trim. When they can add features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto why not to complete the package with steering mounted controls.

Ditch the Amt also because it's a lame gearbox. Just give us the turbo petrol. This car will become a pocket rocket in no time and will increase its ability to munch miles on highways.

re: The Renault Triber AMT, now launched at 6.18 lakhs

Four things which are on top of my list and will make this a car a complete package are as follows:

1. Driver seat height adjustment
2. Steering mounted controls
3. Keyless entry
4. Driver arm rest

Apart from the above missing bits, if the CVT from Micra / Go+ can be plonked in, it would be difficult to challenge this all rounder.

The Triber already provided TRUE Keyless Entry! The Smart Card is all you need, you just approach the car from any of the front 2 doors, or the front Bonnet or the rear Hatch and it automatically unlocks. You don't even need to press the unlock switch on the card, what more keyless entry do you want?

Yes, I also wish they had given Driver Seat Height Adjustment, Height Adjustable Seat Belts, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts (mentioned in the Owner's Manual on the Left 2nd Row Seat), Steering Mounted Controls, Power Folding ORVMs and Auto AC. Rest all are good!! Don't miss a Driver Armrest as we never had a car which had one, and so never got used to it or miss it for now.

Thank you for correcting me! Triber does come with the keyless entry!

So my revised wishlist is:

- driver seat height adjustment
- steering mounted controls
- arm rest

re: The Renault Triber AMT, now launched at 6.18 lakhs

Weakest link in the Triber package is the engine. An AMT with an existing lackluster engine is not the best thing. Further, Renault omitted the creep function on Kwid AMT. This usually helps during the b2b traffic. Let's see if the Triber gets the same thing.

I hope they launch the updated, more powerful motor soon.
