The biggest change to the Superb is the new larger 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that replaces the old 1.8-litre TSI unit. Power and torque figures are notably higher, with the new unit making 190hp and 320Nm of torque; up 10hp and 70Nm over the previous engine. Power goes to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard.

Re: Scoop! 2020 Skoda Superb spied for the first time in India

Superb Sportline at 30L. L&K at 33L

Sportline gets:
Black Alcantara interiors
Flat bottomed steering wheel
Virtual cockpit

L&K gets:
Brown / beige interiors (option)
Drive mode select - is this the same as DCC?
No virtual cockpit
Ventilated front seats.
Virtual pedal to open the boot
Canton 11 speaker system

:-( They should have loaded the L&K with the virtual cockpit!

It's a pretty decent pricing considering the the new more powerful engine and the DQ381 ! The old pricing was 27.8L for the 1.8 Tsi style version and 31L for the L&K. Also a great strategy in terms of differentiation by way of features. Both will appeal to different segments. But yeah a bit dissapointing that the L&K doesn't get the Virtual Cockpit !

Skoda has done a great job on the Superb, but have messed up big time on the Karoq's pricing !!

And the Flat bottomed steering wheel. On the other hand Sportline should have gotten the Drive mode select.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

No Virtual Cockpit in L&K. That is opposite of what an L&K variant is supposed to be. Doesn't make sense at all. To shell out more money to not have a feature thats feels newgen and differentiates from others car/variants. But the cheaper model gets it.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

Feature cut on top variant need justification, they should have given it as optional in Sportline and standard in L&K variant. I am not a fanboy of sedans prefer SUVs over them anyday but regularly drooling over the Superb threads from a long time. If somehow I am convinced to buy a sedan than it will be Superb it definitely competes with the entry segment luxury Germans i.e 3-series, A4 & C-class.

Is there any plan to launch the diesel models later or Superb will be available with Petrol only option. Seems the fuel economy will be in single digits with the kind of power and size of the car. Moreover diesel and petrol price gap has been drastically reduced over a period of time hence I don't see any benefit in paying extra amount for the diesel variant.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

What is surprising is the following cannot be found in the Superb brochure but are present in the Karoq:
1. AFS (Adaptive Front light System)
2. Central locking controls on the front centre console
3. Height and length adjustable steering wheel

Not sure if it is genuinely missing or missed out in the brochure

Was going over the prices, there is something called "Essential Accessories Kit". I dont think thats from SKODA, that the dealer is trying to palm of to the customer.

Is Skoda Shield still available for the superb? How much does that cost ?
Also does anyone have the Mumbai price sheet ?

38L is not too bad for the Sportline honestly. It has a lot more kit than before and the 2L TSI + new gearbox.

Considering the VRS230 was 33L, the superb for 5L more is a lot more car.

It also makes the VRS245 look overpriced. A couple of months and with 2L discounts, 36L is a good amount for the package IMO.

That 2L TSI and new DQ381 box was never going to be priced similar to outgoing model.

The L&K on other hand at 42L is a little far fetched since it crosses the 40L barrier.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

Agree with what most others are saying L&K should have every feature, not including the virtual cockpit is a really bad move, even if it meant adding some more cost to the the Superb, it is already an expensive car, I am sure the people buying it wouldn't mind spending a little more for every feature being present in the L&K. Also maybe i missed it, but are these the matrix LED lights or regular ones. A little selfishly I am happy I booked the pre facelift model and saved some money on the L&K, except for the new engine and gearbox I don't feel i have lost out on much.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

I really feel the regular analogue dial will go well with the L&K variant. There's something classy and understated in real dials compared to an iPad in front of you. Provided all the necessary info is displayed on the centre console atleast.

Re: Skoda Superb facelift launched at Rs. 29.99 lakh

For anyone looking at E class levels of space at the budget, the Superb is excellent value. All the more so with that 2.0L TSI. The car itself looks like a million bucks and to me defines understated elegance.

I loved the old Superb lines which looked so much more better than the Octavia and this continues the trend. Excellent pricing too by Skoda. Yes this is going to be at par or even pricer than the Audi A3 or the soon to arrive BMW 2 series but if you are not looking for the badge it's so much more car at that price. Awesome. Perhaps a nice pick off the 2nd hand market 3/4 years down the line!

If it's the VW group's mats and mud flaps, those things are excellent quality and very well engineered. I had them for my Polo GT and they were worth every penny of the 2k paid. Of course for the class, the kit for Superb will be much pricer but would be a worthwhile purchase given my experience. I believe the Octavia has it too.

Drive on,
Shibu.
