Found this write-up https://www.cartoq.com/tata-harrier-...hav-thackeray/

Here's a video from the link(starts at around 00:27) -

It sure does add some class to the otherwise commonly loaded motorcade with Mahindra Boleros/Maruti Suzuki Ertigas/TATA Safaris.
I will even say that the Harrier look better/aggresive than the Innova(Crysta) too.

Re: The Bodyguard Cars of India

Despite being outdated, Pajero stands out among it's peers. It's like big brother of SUVs. Whatever you might have heard about Pajero, you will change your opinion once you drive it. I had realized this after had traveled in a Fortuner and Pajero on the same day for 4 hours each. Pajero scores better in ergonomics & suspension which I believe makes it more comfortable.

IMHO Pajero is a better guard vehicle than Fortuner / Endeavour on comfort and economical grounds. But not many are using it for their guards except those who want to have a Safari look-a-like foreign brand SUV.

You are right, they look absolutely stunning. I still regret picking up the Seltos in Nov, not waiting for the 170bhp Harrier. There is a black one in my apartment and looks absolutely beautiful. Every time I pass it on my jogs, I take a nice lingering glance at it.

Typical Tata to launch a half brilliant, half baked car full of niggles.

How are they allowed to put Police decals and weeu-weeu lights? Are there actual brown uniform police inside or normal bodyguards? Did he "gift" the car for use by the police?

What's that camouflage vehicle behind the Range Rover Vogue ? Seems like a Riot Control vehicle.

When government protection (Y/Z/Z+) is given to industrialists/industries, the protection personnel, while on government payroll, are paid for by the protectee. All the ancillary/support equipment of the security personnel is also paid for by the protected party. In this instance, the Reliance group pays for each and everything required by the CRPF/CISF personnel who guard them. The Range Rovers (and Endeavours and what not) are brought directly by the Reliance Group for the security team whereas the Reliance group reimburses the salary of the personnel to the Union Government.

That's a Mahindra Marksman. It's a light armored personnel carrier. Usually used by armed response/QRT of various police departments in India. It is also used by CISF, CRPF, Delhi Police and Mumbai Police (SWAT/QRT/Force One).

I think its a mix of police personnel, CRPF & normal bodyguards. The MG Gloster which is part of the fleet is registered with Additional Commissioner of Police,Mumbai.
