Re: June 2020 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

This is a warning to Honda at the right time to review their pricing for 5th Gen Honda City once more before releasing it on 15th July 2020. Damage once done is forever(Example - Toyota Yaris). In one of the press release, Toyota have informed that they observe sales pattern shifting towards base variants since the onset of pandemic. In context, lack of base E or SV variant in next gen City is likely to put Honda India in back seat.

Toyota has been bold enough to increase the price of Toyota Yaris by upto Rs.1.68 lacs in July 2020. Had they reduced the price of base variant by 40k and higher variants by upto 100k they would have stood a chance to recover considering the likely higher pricing for 5th Gen Honda City.

Re: June 2020 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Frankly speaking this is better than expected. We have done almost 60% sale which is really good sign that economy will soon come on track. I know it will take few months, i am expecting it to happen from January 2021. June was the immediate month after nation wide lock down was over, still 58% sale is not that bad as people are saying. July may do around 70% is my guess. Market needs trigger now, Corona Vaccine is that trigger. Once people know that Vaccine is available, fear will go and demand will come back.

Hope for the best, fingers crossed !!
