Rumour: BS6 Mahindra TUV300 launch in July 2020

Mod Note: Our Mahindra Bolero New Report has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

On one of the TUV 300 WhatsApp groups out there, I've seen a screenshot of a Mahindra employee's confirmation that the TUV 300 shall live on to see the BS 6 days. He estimates that it'll be back on sale by end of July 2020. His name checks out on LinkedIn; he's a DM in the Mahindra Pune plant. This information seems legitimate.

May this underestimated SUV live on, but hopefully with meaningful features in place (4 cylinder engine, 4WD option, a proper TUV 300 Plus with front-facing seats etc.)

Re: Mahindra TUV300 not on sale; removed from website

I for one was a bit sad when the TUV3OO appeared to be discontinued. So if its coming back with a BSVI engine, I'd be surely glad. Its a capable vehicle in the right bracket. Surely there are takers that need its robust no frills build & abuse friendly chassis.

You could as well have simply given the name here . Let's see if that linked in profile shows some other employer in some months from now due to this leak.

Yes, absolutely. There are many of us here who would probably buy this beast all over again if we were in the market again. This product is like the Thar, with creature comforts and minus the obvious.

I am bad at masking my thoughts. Really.

Re: Rumour: BS6 Mahindra TUV300 launch in July 2020

The TUV300 Plus is surely going to be resurrected in a BS6 avatar, as shared by me here:- https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post4745370 (Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works)

The lights seems to have been lifted from the Imperio and fog lamps from the old Scorpio. As far as I remember seeing on the On Test model of TUV300 also, it'll feature similar changes to it's looks in the BS6 guise.

And as seen in the end of this video I made, even the TUV300 was being tested for BS6 compliance and a facelift.

I might belong to a minority who would find the regular tuv300 to be a more appealing/attractive proposition than the 'plus' version. Hope the engines that would power the tuv300plus would be offered on the shorter tuv300 too!

Wonder what's stopping Mahindra from launching TUV with Thar powertrains-2.2L Diesel and 6AT with new Thar dashboard !

Re: Rumour: BS6 Mahindra TUV300 launch in July 2020

TUV 300 is a good car but Mahindra needs to modify it's looks. Front is too loud and doesn't suit the overall size of the car, in fact looks odd to me. If they can make good looking front, i guess it will look much better. Rest of the car is good, they can make better though in the new version.

Not sure if it is a packaging issue, but really hope they launch the BS6 plus version with a forward facing third row.

Re: Rumour: BS6 Mahindra TUV300 launch in July 2020

I guess TUV 300 is the only vehicle from M&M stable which has undergone so many transformations since launch in 2015. Many people thought it will be killed by Mahindra, but it is being resurrected everytime.
  • Firstly launched with mere 85 bhp variant
  • Then launched with 100 bhp variant
  • Then T10 version added with black matte finish alloys, matte finish black spare wheel cover, leather seats, rear camera and touch screen
  • Then they discontinued the problematic AMT
  • Then came TUV 300 Plus which was a 9 seater and huge flop
  • Then came facelifted version of TUV 300
  • Now with BS6 avatar, I see many changes in front grill, headlights and fog lamps
  • They also launched almost 3 versions of body kits for those who do not liked boxy shape

Still so many creature comforts missing which are available in cars like i10
  • No rear AC vents on a 7 seater vehicle
  • No ACC
  • Only 2 airbags even on a top end variant
  • No rear discs, xuv 300 gets them from base variant
  • No auto dimming IRVM

Step-mother love from Mahindra on this vehicle. I hope they do not launch another half baked product with problems like faulty AMT and wheel spin problems.

Re: Rumour: BS6 Mahindra TUV300 launch in July 2020

It was sad to see a competent car lose out and flop because of a bad engine.
This puts a smile on my face, hopefully mahindra gives us amazing engine options and makes the car a hit, All the best mahindra!

It's sideprofile would've been so much better if they had gone with slightly less italics and slightly more bold.

Few observations-

1. This is T10 variant according to the pics. However, the pre-facelift one got grey alloys, which is not the case here (I'm assuming this to be the top spec variant)

2. Fog lamp design seems to have been carried forward from the previous gen Scorpio.

3. Rear parking sensors should have been body coloured. These black ones look aftermarket and gaudy.

4. HMSIL unit is still the same as the pre-facelift one. It blocking the rear visibility due to its huge size was a major complaint by the owners (and in the official review as well). Mahindra should've got a smaller unit.

5. No LED side turn indicators. Neither are they integrated into the side view mirrors. And neither do they have a special positioning (like in the Altroz). Not good.

6. Mahindra should've provided 16 inch alloy wheels for the side profile to look proportional.

7. Mahindra should've provided at least a new design of alloy wheels. After all, this is a facelift and not merely a BS6 version.

8. Mahindra should've provided request sensor for the driver's door at least (again, assuming this to be the top spec variant).

Mahindra better give this car a good tuning of the engine + VFM pricing, otherwise this is Dead-On-Arrival.

The TUV seems to have improved considerably.
