Too little too late. The Q2 and next-gen Q3 have been on sale in international markets for a while now but Audi just refused to launch them in India despite the previous gen Q3 being a success. Now, their competitors have the upper hand especially since the Q2 has the older infotainment system.

If Audi were smart, they should have released the Q2 back in 2016 and slowly have phased out the Q3 as the new one came along. Instead, they stocked on too many Q3's and discounted them heavily. When the new Q2 and Q3 come, the customer will be really confused, there is barely much difference between the two.

If they must, Audi should bring in the Q2 and the Q3 Sportback to complement each other

There is an Audi Q2 and a VW T-Roc parked in front of our apartment here in London. Both are very similar in look and size.

IMHO the T-ROC looks better than the Q2 and especially this soft top version looks really cool.

The interiors are exactly the different. Audi Q2 interiors are a few notches above that of T-ROC’s. In either case, Q2 if priced at Karoq’s price, might get some volumes. Else, the Tiguan is where consumers will be drawn to come 2021/22.

Easily 32+ ex showroom I feel, going by Audi's past pricing strategy & perceived premium quotient. Size is simply not important nor engine size.

Audi is Audi whether there are any sales or not. :-)

Overpriced tiny cars don't really sell in India. Audi should know this from when the A3's price was at exorbitant levels! Even the Mercedes CLA has suffered due to being too expensive for a small package.

Such media are slyly used to raise the price expectations, but the product is eventually positioned lower, making it beat "perceptions".

Skoda Kodiaq offers a much higher VFM whereas Audi has more of a brand value.

Skoda has higher brand value in it's peer group than Audi. Skoda's brand value is much better than Hyundai, Tata. Audi's brand value is much worse than Mercedes and BMW.

Absolutely Sir. What I meant was that if one has to chose between Skoda and Audi, IMHO, Audi has more brand value. This is just a personal opinion.

My bad for being off topic. Still learning. Will try to be more pertinent.

Just to be back in game in terms of nos. If Audi cares to be in the top league, it has to get a seller car by not offering obnoxious pricing. Pricing changes the whole game, they were no. 1 in India sales at one point in time now do they not care to be competitive? Price it well and get it in the game again Audi

In fact at 4191mm the Q2 is shorter than the Troc by about 2 inches. Being MQB perhaps the underlying metalwork is identical. The difference in length could be due to the bumper overhang and "plasticwork". But the engine is the successor to the 1.8TSI the new 2.0TSI. I am guessing it would start at 35.99 ish!

Actually, it's smaller than a Creta...:D

And oh...GC 144mm!

It's hilarious to see hatchbacks being passed off as an suv. Atleast give the size of an X1 before calling it one. Anyway without a 4*4, and being a front wheel drive with puny turbocharged petrols who are they fooling? Plus charging an equivalent of fortuner money is simply foolhardy.

It'll still find takers. But not at 35.99; it would be DOA, maybe at 30 lakhs ex showroom and it *might* find a few, very very few takers.

I would pick a T-Roc over this one :D

Agreed. You have to be a mini-Porsche to command that kind of money (35L plus) with those dimensions.

Aren't most Audis', these days?

With Troc and Karoq around, it makes way more sense to get one of those..!

But of course they won't get the 2.0 TSI.

You are right, it would have some takers, but it would for sure be priced at more than 30L. The German trio would never ever want to kill the differentiation in "segment".
