Agreed, however given that they have launched all of these in other countries (including likes of Vietnam & Philippines) and that Gloster is already providing Level 1 Autonomous features in the segment, TKM should include these in the offering. The good thing though, all will be clear very soon i.e. on 6th itself. fingers crossed

Well, this generation of the Fortuner has had rear-diff lock in all markets except India from day-1, and is not something that has been introduced with the facelift. Hope you get the drift I'd be happy to be proven wrong, though.

Update;

The Manual variant will not get the updated engine, the power, torque figures will remain the same as the Pre-Facelift 2016 Fortuner.

Thought so! Peak torque was capped at 420 NM for MT variant of pre-facelift version, as this was the max that could be handled by the manual transmission. So, there was no way this could have changed unless the transmission is tweaked as well, which is not the case.

Given this, it would be interesting to note the price hikes for MT and AT respectively.

This looks exciting as well as scary. Evrywhere else it's the Legender which gets premium features but other way round in India. If the feature list is indeed true(which I strongly believe is false) I would not be surprised if 4*4 costs 50lacs knowing Toyota.

I guess "improved performance" relates to higher tune of the 2.8 lit engine.

Can't wait for the unveil on Wednesday! Given the list (if it is correct), the price hike could be steep!

I somehow feel that the list is not completely true. Why will Toyota give a 'Limited Differential Slip' in addition to 'Differential Lock' on top of A-trac. The presence of both Slip type differntial and locking one in a same vehicle is a unique offering and hence false. Also, other than the engine upgrade, most of the features mentioned here are available in 10-15 Lakh rupee Sedans, not sure why will toyota increase the cost to a greater extent.

Also, I think the legender will get all the upgrades from the regular car other than the 4WD hardware and related features.

I still don't want to believe that TKM will omit the 4x4 variant in the Legender; I mean why would they do that?
I have booked the new Fortuner already. I don't want to (and will be) confused to prefer 4x4 normal variant or 4x2 Legender!

The Legender has the following features internationally which makes me think that this list is a bit jumbled up

- 9 not 11 Speaker JBL System (2 mid range, 2 tweeter, 4 speakers,1 Subwoofer)
- 9 Inch Entertainment System with Apple Car Play/Android Auto is missing in this list.
- Leather Seat Ventilation should be in the Legender
- 360 Degree View (Did not see a slot in the side mirrors in the test mule.
- Tyre Turning Angle (Not Sure for India)

Toyota Safety Sense : Not sure how much of these will be in India

- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Variable Automatic Speed Control
- Lane Departure Alert - Not Sure for India
- Front/Pre Collision Warning

Also knowing Toyota, not sure if they would launch the Legender in 4*4 with its features like the LSD & Lockable Differential for Legender.

Furthermore internationally it comes in 3 colours - Attitude Black, Emotional Red & Pearl White with an Attitude Black top where mostly looking like they would launch this only in Pearl white with Matt Black similar to the old TRD versions & only in the 4*2

I hope they provide the 4x4 variant with the 204 PS and 500 Nm state of tune. Legender or not. The Fortuner always had a butch and purposeful stance and I wouldn't care so much about the "Legender" just for the different bodykit or front end styling. I still think they should give a 4x4 variant in the "Legender" if the customer needs it.

Eagerly waiting for a "karan561" Saheb's detailed review on "KKC on a Motive" channel and also a subsequent full review by the mods on Team Bhp. Hope you get a version to test soon Karan Saheb.
