The power train lineup includes a gasoline model that combines a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine and a CVT, as well as a two-motor hybrid system "e: HEV" that uses various drive systems mainly for motor driving. Set the hybrid model. In addition, a new hill descent control is installed.

With e: HEV, you can enjoy a linear and comfortable acceleration feeling, and you can select from three different driving modes: "NORMAL", "SPORT", and "ECON". It is also possible to select different deceleration degrees when the accelerator is off with the D range, B range, and deceleration selector.

The 4WD model is equipped with "real-time AWD" that enables stable driving even in bad weather and driving on snow. In particular, the e: HEV model will provide stable and enjoyable driving in various road environments by combining the rapid linear torque generation that is characteristic of the engine and the real-time AWD that optimally distributes the driving force to the four wheels. ..

Oh man that looks better than the renders. Except for the body colour grille. A kidney grille from the 2018 X3 would have anyone mistake it for a BMW

Looks so graceful. Right now I'm like "Honda India, Kab Khoon Khaulega re tera !"
India definitely needs some good products in Creta / Seltos range to give the Koreans twins a tough fight.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Looks quite sporty and spacious I must say. Almost a bit Q3-ish.

I am sure when(if) it comes to India, they might have to rework that rear a bit to make it look more boxy. Thats what sells in our country after all. And that dual sunroof!

1.5 i-vtec in a slightly higher tune would probably suffice considering the power and tax brackets here.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Is it only me who thinks it looks heavily inspired by Mazda CX series of SUVs?

Don't like that body coloured line grill. Looks weird. The other versions looks good.

That body colored grille looks weird. I don't like it in the red body color but like it in the ceramic one. Hmm. Weird. If this car does manage to come to India, I sincerely hope they don't slap a huge chrome grille on it.

Also, I love the interiors. I used to like the Elantra's swooping interior design half a decade back but boy have my tastes changed with my age and I'm yet to cross 30's

I think the rear has a striking resemblence to the Porsche Cayenne.

Looks like Honda has put Porsche as inspiration for its future SUV's just like it has BMW for its sedans.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Can only hope Honda India brings the Hybrid HRV to India. Asap !! They need something above the City which is fresh and this is it. The hybrid would help with class leading fuel efficiency compared to Korean or Jap cousins or Indian courins, and 5 star safety would be icing on the cake. Cmon Honda India . Wake up .

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

While Honda continues to consider vehicles others have launched and relaunched cars left, right and centre.

My issue with Honda is that I like them but they don't seem to like me. I am one of those guys who find the name Honda synonymous with quality and reliability. It is one of the reasons I went for the city. It still feels like the only good sedan available in that price bracket but if I want to upgrade, Honda is unwilling to give any options. They have pretty much taken away the Civic and the CRV and I will all but have to move on from the brand.

They have lost the plot and are not even reacting to the market needs. A CSUV that can compete with the Creta was needed 2 years back at least. Honda had everything going for them, they had the best selling sedan in City and the Amaze too showed traction. They just needed to give a good engine to the CRV and reposition it. Instead they focussed on a set of nonstarters like the Mobilio and BRV.
I do not expect this vehicle anytime in the future. As a customer I am already clear that I need to go towards a brand that seems genuinely invested in my country.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Frankly it has the looks some a plastic dish drying basket commonly found in Indian kitchens.

Honda has been making utterly cluttered designs for a few years. Now they have gone the other direction and are making bland designs.

Woah. That's a sad front view. Seems like Honda is really screwing talent and design at the same time.

Re: Honda HR-V midsize SUV still being considered for India

Honda HR-V India launch planned for End 2021

New 2021 Honda HR-V is on cards and will be launched post festive season this year. Thailand will get it before India.

Will be 2nd product for the year after Honda City Hybrid (May-June 2021)

New HR-V will be a Hybrid.

Will be positioned as the premium offering in Honda Cars India Lineup due to Civic & CR-V's Absence.

Indian Spec HR-V will see some minor revisions compared to Thailand Spec.

That's it for now.

I guess this will be Honda's last throw at Indian Market, if this fails, I see Honda packing up.
