Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

Spotted 2 display vehicles of the Sonet GT Line at the dealership in Chinchwad, Pune.

The Sonet looks handsome and it’s size is definitely bigger than the Venue. The size is almost comparable to the Brezza.
It has presence even beside its elder sibling, Seltos.

Legroom is limited, it's similar to the venue. boot space is larger than its competitor. If you are more concerned about leg room and want to buy sub 4m CSUV, XUV 300 is better choice.

Agree. I checked the Sonet again today. It was the top end GT line. The 3rd person at the back will be very difficult because the arm rest protrudes so much it's impossible to sit and it hurts the back badly along with zero under thigh support for the 5th person. It is strictly a 4 seater and long journeys with the 5th person will not be possible. Leg room is better than Venue. Yea for a small family it's a good vehicle.

Yes it more of 4 seater premium CSUV, if some one is ok with lesser boot, xuv300 is better choice for 5.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

First video in sunshine.

This video gives a good idea about the rear leg space, with driver seat at normal position and pushed back almost to limit, both.

Leg space is comparable to venue or Grand i10 as expected.
5th adult occupant will not feel welcomed.

Boot is pretty much usable on cost of compromising leg space.

Red car looks hot, spicy and fresh, but I still vote XUV300 for looks. Also I believe rear seats are more frequently used compared to boot, so again XUV300 would be my choice if i need to choose.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

Going by pictures, the side profile of Venue looks more appealing to me than this. But the Sonet looks way better from rear.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

To each their own, and no offence to anyone who likes the car, I don’t like the car from any angle. The front looks overdone, don’t like the tiger nose implementation and it’s just too busy. Side looks like any blown up small hatch. The vertical AC vents and the switch layout are just hideous.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

Well looks are one thing that is subjective and people get used to very soon. When the Venue was launched and some pre launch looks were shared , people were really appalled by the front Grill (just see the reactions which people shared on that thread!). Also Venue's circular AC controls look very dated. Compared to the Venue, in my opinion the Sonet is much better looking. I will probably see the car tomorrow if it has reached the showroom and then comment on the aesthetics. But feature wise it is quite ahead of all other options in the same price bracket.

Can I ask you for a favor?
Please check under-thigh support in front seats as well as rear bench.
Share your experience with us, along with your height for reference.

Don't know how authentic it would be.
But these are as per my guess / expectations hence shared here.

I am not sure about this pricing.

The difference in the top model of Petrol and Diesel is a huge 100K. Which is not the case in the Seltos and Creta top models. In the Seltos, the top of the line Diesel and Petrol is about 10K apart. In the case of the Creta, the difference is even less.

Also, at 13L ex-showroom, it's just 50k less than the HTK+ Seltos Diesel AT. And at this price, the top model will be a hard sell. For 50K more, if I can get a bigger car with a better road presence, I would go for it. I'm sure there are many others, who will echo the same sentiment.

I'm focusing only on the top model as this is the version I'm interested in

This is nothing but a clickbait story. This screenshot is from MyCarHelpline which the news source in question has shamelessly watermarked and put up.
If you go to MyCarHelpline, you can see this page with the '**' mark saying that these are indicative prices.

Thank you for sharing this. I really hope the GTX+ diesel auto is not 13 lacs ex showroom. It's a lot of money for a sub 4 meter car. Even if it is a diesel with TC and with all the bells and whistles, I think these predicted prices are a little off. Plus, as rightly pointed by another member, the price difference between petroL DCT and diesel TC is whopping 1 lac (GTX+ variant) which shouldn't be the case.
