I cant understand why the government come out a regulation makng it illegal to manufacture such tinted films which do not conform to visibility standards, they should monitor the source not the end-user.

Cant we legally file claims through consumer courts/regular courts from the government for harassing the general public by bringing out unthoughtful and irratic rules and making them fix these back or refund of challans.

I have the same question. I go ahead and get the legal tints tomorrow and after a few days some other HC judge passes another erratic rule .... What about those who have been challaned...Something should be done about it.

Here comes the relief

HC okays tinted glasses for cars.

Yeah, its confirmed now. The Delhi High Court have lifted the ban on car tint glasees on friday which was imposed few months ago. The tint must have 70% visibility at the front and rear and 50% on the windows.

My patience (the fact that such traffic drives as this fizzle out eventually for lack of manpower) and hood-winking ability saw me through this period.

My sympathies with all those fellow vehicle owners who had to remove the tints and in some cases were torn off by the cops.

Some kind of tax break?
I had to waste money due to an unconsitutional law!

Sanity prevails in the end?
What were they thinking when they came out with this dumb rule?

Why is it they always think only after the damage has been done?!

I went to a dealer who said that I would get the film for a particular company and get a paper which has the Indian Govt. Seal and on that it would be written that the Film is withing the Prescribed Limits

Cool right?

Ditto for me! Didn't get my tints removed when the stupid verdict capping film usage was passed, and I feel real good about that now. The core issue with such laws being passed left and right is that our judiciary and law enforcement are big time confused about how to go implementing things for public safety. It's all ad hoc short term fixes that they come up with to save their own skin, not giving a penny for the common man. Sucks big time!

Dude , I saw the tints which are 50 % and 70 %(visibility) as per rules. The one which come with the license suck. I saw a 65 %(visible) film and it is much dark than than the 50 % visible film.
