Reviving old cars

I am shocked to see two ad's on TV these days.

1. Hyundai Accent : yes the same old one.

2. Force Traveller : I thought they were going to launch a new version.

I fail to understand what these two companies are trying. I mean trying to eat into Verna market ie for Hyundai. And do you think Force is trying to clear up old stocks before they launch a new model.

Incidentally, I was wondering recently abt why Hyundai had gone silent with their Accent. No ads No promos etc. I now realize my thoughts are hackable into. I plan to think no more.

Hyundai/Force need do stock clearance. I keep seeing new Ikons but no new Accents on the roads.

I dunno why the Accent shouldnt be continued.
Look at it this way - most car companies in India have an entry-level sedan below 6 lakhs: Indigo, Aveo, Esteem, Ikon Flair, Petra etc.
The Accent slots neatly into this category. Even the CRDi has a market at 7 lakhs - it still whops the Fiesta TDCi and Indigo DICOR in performance. It's still a fresh looking car with decent interiors - something the competitors are just catching up with. So I wouldnt blame Hyundai.

I was kinda surprised myself when the ads for the Accent were shown. I thought they had bid a farewell adieu to the Accent with the launch of the Verna. However, they seem to have realised that they do need the services of an entry level sedan to take on the likes of the Ikon Flair, the indigo and pretty soon the Logan.

Between, does anyone else share the feeling as me that the ground clearance on the Accent leaves more to be desired?

I feel that they are relaunching the Accent and will reduce the price and the trims to counter the Logan

I dont suppose they could reduce the trims on the Accent any further. The ads being shown now is for the GLE which is the base variant. I seriously do not see how they can price it even further down.

I guess this was a masterstroke from Hyundai, soon we are going to see an AD blitz for Accent between the price range of 5.5 to 6.5 Lakhs, this is to counter the Logan.
