Jokes apart, the Tiago NRG did sell in decent numbers before the Facelift arrived last year. Hence, Tata has re-thought that and are implementing it now.

In near future, there is also a CNG Variant coming.

I thought they had pulled the plug on the Tiago!! Are they still selling it?? Hardly see any of those these days. Mostly it's Altroz that's visible these days. I feel there's a lot of price overlap with the Tiago that people find it better to go in for the better looking Altroz: NRG or not!!

Don’t know about Chennai, I see handsome number of Tiago in Bangalore city. There is one yellow Tiago near to my place, I so wished they sold that colour Tiago with turbo charged engine.

Not at all & there’s no reason to do so. Tiago remains their entry level car followed by Altroz and nexon. New Tiago infact looks like a mini altroz specially the front and it does decent numbers MoM. Bangalore has good number of those.

NRG was there earlier as well in 2019 I guess. Basically a jacked up version with 180mm GC, black cladding and alloy-like wheel caps IIRC. I did spot a few copies and they don’t really look ugly in flesh.

Scoop! Tata Tiago NRG facelift spotted at dealership

Tata Motors is set to launch the updated Tiago NRG on August 4. Now, here are the first clear images of the car, which was spotted at a dealership.



The 2021 Tiago NRG is based on the Tiago facelift that was launched earlier this year. The car features a body kit with black cladding all around and a rear bumper with a silver skid plate. It gets a black roof with roof rails, black ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars and partially blacked-out C-pillars. The car also gets a new set of 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels.



On the inside, the Tiago NRG gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit which is expected to have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It has manual air-conditioning, a digital instrument cluster and a rear-view camera.



Mechanically, the NRG will be identical to the Tiago hatchback. It will use the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 85 BHP and 113 Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.

Is it raised a bit? More ground clearance than the stock Tiago? Or its just my eyes playing games?

Wheel design looks good, better than the previous NRG IMO. Also good to see its in the top trim with all bells and whistles. That said - the claddings added afterwards on a car are never to my taste.
TML really must be banging head on a wall. After the Safari - now the NRG is also coming up on TBHP in all its glory, much before their planned and hyped official unveil/launch .

P.S. - Interestingly - the picture from inside cabin - shows what looks like a Toyota workshop!

Looks like it. The previous NRG also had higher slightly ground clearance than standard Tiago, 180mm IIRC.

Hope this time Tata has provided actual alloy wheels. The design looks sweet and can be a good option even for Tiago/Tigor owners.

Joy of joys,it also has a remote boot release button. Was a royal pain to bend down for the previous cable operated mechanism!

Also I hope this time its proper alloy wheels. Not steel style wheels ( I still have my doubts as on zoom up the wheels have a sort of circular hub in the middle which is not usually the case for alloy wheels). Am I overthinking??
