Thanks boss.
Would be great if you could divulge any information on the timelines.
Convinced a family member to get one and already sold his scorpio last week. Now on the edge for either getting the current one or wait for this.
Dealer here is clueless and is asking to get the current one itself.

My friend wanted to book Innova Crysta GX AT, but the sales guy called him to inform that "new" Innova is very near to being launched with a major mechanical change. I doubt if its true as the 2.8 with increased power has reworked engine block so I dont think that Innova will get 2.8 with 190+bhp. May be they will have 2.8 in Innova with 170-180bhp ? Or its just a facelift with better instrument console for entry level trim and usual small incremental changes which are part of facelift ? Unfortunately, any small change will be coupled with a price rise by Toyota. Just like Hyundai Group has next to no rivals for Creta/Seltos, Innova has no real rivals hence the price has jumped by leaps and bounds. Marazzo came real close, but Mahinda didn't give it a proper big engine while providing scant features in lower trims. Lets hope that Toyota is reasonable and the 2.8 gets back under the hood of Innova.

Came to know from the dealer that bookings are now open for Face Lift. On road price would increase from 60K to 1L. No further details. About to deliver first vehicle by Nov 15.

I just got back from the dealer here in Pune and also confirmed with another dealer. They have already started dispatching the new Innovas to dealers and started taking bookings for it. Dealers are now only clearing their existing stock and facelift will be available from November 20th.
BHPian @silverknight also mentioned the same. Price hike looks pretty steep for a new touchscreen and cosmetic upgrades!

How can Toyota put a panoramic sunroof on this? The rear ac is roof mounted. For a sunroof, they would need to reroute the unit to the floor and vents on the pillars. Too much of change for a cab. As is the majority of the buyers are fleet owners who don't need a sunroof.

Will be great if Toyota can get the following with along this facelift.

1. Bring the 2.8 Diesel AT back - atleast in the Touring Sport
2. Rear disc brakes
3. Proper cladding for the wheel wells.

Don't think it will happen, but it will be great if they can get this done. I am saying this not as a prospective buyer for the Innova, I can think of much better ways to spend that much money. But nothing gets my goat than to see the Innova without these essentials on roads here - especially the last two there.

Even when some else has gladly paid that much money, I somehow feel short-changed. Oh! The pain of being a car lover in this country, I really wish I wasn't one!

Toyota is all set to launch the facelifted Innova Crysta in India later this month, with some dealers already accepting bookings for the updated MPV!

Even after 100 years, the Innova would still look the same! Toyota should change their design team and hire some Kia designers. But nobody cares in India. Here just the brand name matters. Nothing else.

AND

4. 6 speed manual transmission with iMT rather than current 5 speed
5. Better MID in GX as the car now costs 20 lacs OTR

All thanks to Toyota to keep jacking up prices, used car market are quoting insane amount for Crysta.

Toyota is deliberately going beyond reach of many so that they can introduce Maruti badged MPV in that artificially created vaccum space.

Will it finally get android auto/Apple carplay? Cars that cost a quarter have it now. I hope it does because otherwise crysta is a pretty decent car albeit a bit expensive.

Internationally it gets a larger touchscreen with the above mentioned features and a 360deg camera atleast in the top end version, must be getting it in India as well.

I really don't like the rear-end with that Goatee sticking out.
But on the plus side, would this be the first Toyota in India with Android Auto/Apple Car play (Excluding Urban Cruiser) ?

re: Pics: The 2021 Toyota Innova Facelift EDIT: Launched at Rs. 16.26 lakhs

I want to replace my 2013 Fortuner AT with an 8 seater Automatic... the GX+ Innova seems to be the most suitable option for now. Don't want to buy the Carnival in its current generation. So for the next 2 or 3 years till the New Carnival hits Indian markets I think the GX+ AT is the best option.

Does anyone know the GX specific updates expected? Or even if an 8 seater ZX is in the offing ?

Do we know if Toyota builds their Innovas same way in India as for other markets? For example the Indonesian version has recently received 5 stars jn Asean NCAP will that hold good for the versions in India?

Am asking after seeing Kias double standards for the Seltos.

^^

Perfect opportunity for Toyota to come out with such information either via advertising or via a press release. If they indeed don’t make any changes, all the more reasons to buy Toyota even at higher prices.

Regarding the launch dates, as most of you will be aware there’s a lockout at Toyota factory for past few days and the new one maybe little delayed unless they have already built inventories. Will try to update here as soon as the new cars are billed to the dealerships.
