Spy images of the MG Hector facelift have surfaced online. The SUV was spotted in Vadodara, Gujarat.



The spy images indicate that the Hector will get a few cosmetic updates including a new mesh grille and a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels. MG has also made a minor change to the rear fascia. The red strip connecting the two tail lamp clusters has been replaced with a black and chrome garnish. The dual-tone rear bumper with its silver insert has been carried over unchanged.



The MG Hector facelift is likely to be offered with the same set of engines as the current car. These include a 168 BHP 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm mated to 6-speed DCT as well as a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid powertrain paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.



Earlier this month, MG introduced a dual-tone version of the Hector. The carmaker is also gearing up to launch the Gloster in the coming weeks.

Just see how they have kept on pushing the Hector alone - facelift, dual-tone, 6-seater Plus variant, ambulance during Covid etc. etc.

In the same year, they have brought the ZS EV & Gloster.

Seriously not the time to be complacent. I appreciate this kind of aggression.

It's surprising that in such a short span of time then have made the brand familiar in India. I mean they are all over the place. Someone looking to buy a car in 15-20 lakh range would definitely have considered MG. Once they bring their ZS petrol which will sit below Hector, they are going to get the numbers too. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in 5th position in our market in a couple of years.

They definitely make a case study for Ford, VAG, GM and all. MG has done proper home work and is determined to succeed, unlike others whom I feel are doing half hearted attempt. How else would you explain Ford not launching a Creta rival when they had tasted success with Ecosport, they had the whole segment for the taking! Kuga would have become an instant hit! At least copy MG's strategy!

They are certainly making the right moves. People who look at them with a red eye (because of their ownership), should remember this in turn is benefitting the Indian Economy, Automotive Industry and thereby the end consumer. Even if they don't wish to buy a MG, MG is forcing the other manufacturer's to stop taking Indian consumers for a ride and offer better products. MG's entry in the Indian market is a win-win for everyone.

People might scoff at MG these days but looking at how many of my non car family and friends are discussing the Gloster, I wouldn't be surprised if MG have another winner in their hands. Kia might have the products to gain a foothold but MG has the brains behind marketing.

I think that this model is not a facelift but a top of the line Savvy variant,just like the Gloster. The alloys look better ,less chrome around the grille. I also have a feeling that MG might load it with some of the autonomous driving aids.

I wish they get the diesel automatic. With Auto Hold functionality, and the general character of the car, the diesel automatic can be a perfect family cruiser.

I wish they change the hideous rear skid plate to match the Hector Plus. I dont think that is happening with this face lift.

All changes to be cosmetic in nature:

Styling updates include a revised grille and new alloy wheels
Engine options to be carried forward unchanged
Expected to get a dual-tone interior

Is there a change in ambient lights? There appears to be quite more light. Perhaps another area where they have added it?
