In the end, it will all come down to their marketing.
Their only hope is niche marketing, specially of the 1.6.
The 1.6 will easily take on the swift and beat it too.
As for the Grande Punto, it would definitely be positioned a bit higher than the Palio so the Palio may not die down.
However, fiat has done a bad job with the new palio.
They should have launched the 1.3 JTD too.
That would have succeeded, even with the swift in the market.
Most of the buyers out here want a car with a good backseat and average. The 1.3 JTD would've provided that.

I somehow fail to understand a comparison between a 1.3 Swift Petrol & Palio 1.6, they are not in same price range & nor in same cc range

How would the 1.3 JTD make a diff in rear seat ???

Technocrat -
both are hot hatches and hence they are compared.
They do fall in the same price range too.

Also, i said that most owners in India wanted a car with a good backseat and a good average.
The 1.3JTD would have satisfied their thirst for FE and the Palio, their thirst for a good backseat and an amazing ride.
While the Swift may make more sense, most of the swift's i have seen are driver driven with the owners in the back seat.

Cheers.

Hope Fiat will be a little faster in bringing new models. It will keep the competition healthy. But honestly, I don't see any point in new re-furbished Palio. Who will buy this ? The enthusiasts who like Palios already have one and I doubt Fiat will get new customers.

Six pages and 85 posts about a detuned car with new headlamps is not a "whisper", typeO.

Dont mind us - enjoy your day of glory.

Of these 87 posts.. 65% posts are ANTI fiat post( which makes the fiat whisper louder)... So its not Fiat lovers fault.

Nah. Still has long way to go. All new Baleno thread has 210+ posts and a certain Dicor thread has only 500 odd posts. So real long way to go :-)

Any way, that twin-beige color steering wheel sucks.

If every now n then "all new" cars from TATA and M&M can attract such a response, why cant FIAT...

Cheers
