That Swift with a WagonR engine is an interesting analogy. I wonder what's keeping these guys from putting a CRDi on the market.

Devarshi, love that signature!

It will be similar to driving a Santro with one fat dude sitting next to you all the time.
You have to look at the gear ratios to see what they did, but you will really feel the power deficit when climbing up a hill for instance.

I'm sure this will happen in a shortly when Swift petrol sales start to taper off.

Hyundai has never sold an old version of a car alongside its new version. Infact they are one of the few manufacturers to always keep their model line up in India updated.

IMO the Getz 1.1 is probably aimed at people who want to enjoy all the comfort, space and quality of a car like the Getz or Swift but arent ever going to use its performance and would enjoy the better fuel efficiency. Someone like my mom perhaps. However they do need to price it a bit lower because even people like my mom wouldnt mind getting the bigger engine for just 10k more.

Will this then be the same case with palio since that is also 1.1 detuned?

the new shape looks nice for sure. think of it like staying in india we never got engine options, so this trend is started in small cars, most welcome. i want to see more getz on road cuz my eyes hurt seeing new white swifts around. like em both but just too too common.. waitting for crdi with vgt to roll out and then kicking starts...

Getz prime I think is like a Getz with Santro Xing engine. I feel that the older Getz ( with 1.3 l engine) which was a superior product should now be available at attractive discount from the Hyundai, and to my mind that will be a VFM product.

i always felt even the older getz was a bit underpowered with the 1.3. The 1.1 seems to be a recipe for driver frustration. still i guess we need to wait for hands on driving impressions to see if driveability has indeeed suffered or not.

Accent GLE or the base version seems to be available still, to take on the likes of the Logan, Ikon Flair and so on. An entry level sedan.

Is the Getz 1.3 still going to be sold or are they trying to phase it out?

Hyundai is famous for bloated power figures.. no wonder the listed power output from the getz engine is 66.6 BHP to make it look different on spec sheet from the stablemate santro.
