| ![]() A test mule of the Ertiga Tour M was recently spotted somewhere near Delhi-NCR. It is rumoured to be testing a BS6-compliant diesel engine. ![]() The Tour M variant of the Ertiga is exclusively for taxi / fleet operators. The test car appears similar to the model currently listed for sale. However, the DDiS badge on the front fender has been removed, which indicates that it might have a BS6-compliant diesel engine under the bonnet. The Ertiga was offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine until the BS6-emission regulations came into effect. This engine produced 94 BHP and 225 Nm and was offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. At present, the MPV is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Now what will happen to those calculate kiya kya ads? ![]() Pure hypocrisy by Maruti Suzuki. I'm sure they will launch BS6 Diesel engines for Ertiga, Ciaz and Brezza for private use soon after launching this Tour series for fleet operators. |

| ![]() Like we have been saying, it's just a matter of time Maruti brings back its diesel engine and why shouldn't it. Wish XL6/XL7 comes with that 1.5L diesel unit. Would replace my Gen1 Ertiga. |

| ![]() This might be petrol/CNG version of Tour M that they may be testing. If it was diesel then the first car that they would test it in is ciaz (premium diesel sedan). Last edited by Rshrey22 : 29th October 2020 at 00:05. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Found this Motorbeam article which speculates that the erstwhile Ertiga is being tested with the Maruti's Diesel (1.5 DDiS?) engine: https://www.motorbeam.com/bs6-maruti...otted-on-test/ So if this is really true, Maruti must be sued by all those customers who were fooled to buy their Petrol on the pretext of it being the "More Sensible" thing as advertised. ![]() |

| ![]() It simply cannot be the petrol/CNG version, as one can clearly hear the engine idle clatter at the start of the video. Strangely, I'm getting excited over the possibility of the 1.5 litre Maruti turbo-diesel returning in BS6 form, despite having never had test-driven cars powered by that engine in BS4 form, but simply having read and trusted Team-BHP reviews before I became a member of this esteemed forum. As someone else said, if there are customers who got duped into buying a petrol car due to Maruti's "Calculate Kiya Kya?" ads, I hope said customers actually will sue the company for misleading and hypocritical marketing. |
