While this 'package' is available in KIA Seltos as well (though mostly in upper variants), its worthwhile to note how it fared in crash tests.

It would have been much better is Hyundai added just one more line in this ad :

Certified Crash Rating by GNCAP (for Indian variant) : __ Stars

Tata should do an advertisement showing a person paying full money in a 5 star hotel and getting a lodge room to stay - with the tag line - If you pay 5 star money would you stay in a room/lodge/ 3 star hotel? Tag line 5 star rated cars

Going by people commenting on the after sales service quality of Tata Motors (Disclaimer: purely going by what I see and not experienced), that ad may backfire for paying 5 star money for the car and getting 2 star service experience.

Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating-20201121_102038.jpg

Let's suppose Tata and Maruti are 2 restaurants

Tata : " Our food is the most hygienic and healthiest"

Maruti : " Our food is most popular- Undisputed claim"

In a way, Maruti have not given a befitting reply to Tata, they have just proved their cunningness that they don't care about giving the people what is right, until the market keeps consuming whatever they sell.

This counter tweet is nothing but an indirect statement from Maruti that they don't care about safety, even if they are shamed publicly.

Maruti, if you can't make safer cars, atleast shut up!

I beg to differ! This was not a reply to Tata Motors by Maruti in any sense!

This was a trend in the marketing world, which is currently among the most popular trends.

Even TVS has participated in it! Link

Both TVS and Maruti along with their dealers are actively participating in this trend. Therefore I do not think it is related to Tata's mocking of the S-Presso in any way.

Re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

I am just waiting for the day when Maruti would blame social media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. to allow ads, posts and tweets regarding safety.

But we should appreciate Tata and Mahindra in doing a wonderful job in putting across a message of safety across our minds.

In last year or so, Teambhp had multiple threads regarding safety popping up.
Compare this with threads that were coming up 5 years back when 'Mileage and Maintenence' where the only talking points for new launches.

Hope all of us continue with this momentum and contribute in 'Safer cars for India' campaign started by GNCAP and chose our future cars wisely.

All this is cool, but is Tata Motors forgetting that their Tigor/Tiago are also rated unstable??

I mean, yes the Tiago/Tigor are the safest cars in the segment. But isn't the unstable structure something even Tata should work on?

Why do they have to use unparliamentary words in an official public statement like that ?
You dont have to go "low" to score a "high" moral point.

Re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

Most highway speeds are easily in triple digits and how do we know whether the 5 star rated vehicle can maintain its structural integrity in those speeds ? Of course, seatbelts and airbags are by far the reason to survive in many crashes.

A witty ad, and one may easily miss the point at first sight!

Ad wars tend to be feast to the viewers/readers.

Nothing. No way to know. Seatbelts and airbags are provided for the worst case scenario where in the driver and all the assistance programs (ABS, ESP etc.) have all failed and a crash occurs.

The crash results are for the worst of the worst case scenario where the structure of the car and not seat belts or air bags, has to protect occupants. These tests are conducted and stars awarded to keep the manufacturers on their toes so that they do not neglect this aspect.

Bottomline- It is all down to the driver to protect himself, passengers, car and others on the road .
