I voted for Altroz. But I am just wondering, if not for the Seltos crash test rating, how many more people would have voted for Sonet? That car looks stunning!

I voted for the thar. Mahindra has listened very carefully to the feedback from previous thar owners and magazines. I think it’s improved by leaps and bounds and the launch , marketing and social media has been very well handled by Mahindra. It says made in India with pride -and deserves to be the car of the year.

My pick would be the Altroz. Would have voted Sonet but the safety rating disappointed me. How does one vote?

Voted for the Thar as it is the most eye balled car right now. If the Defender was listed I would have voted for that. But two cars that really made me think was the Triber and the Magnite. At their price point it is quite a package.

The Altroz is a great looking car only if had an engine to evoke the senses

Voted for THAR, one of the easiest COTY poll for me so far!

Also, extremely happy that the cars bagging top 3 spots as of now are from homegrown brands, way to go!

Guys, newbie members with a total post count less than 25 cannot cast a vote on any poll on the forum.

Second Runner-up
Kia Sonet - For redefining the compact SUV segment with its stunning design and features, and setting the popularity and sales charts on fire.

First Runner-up
Tata Nexon EV - For charting a course for the future of Indian automobiles, mainstreaming a still niche segment on a regular platform, indigenously.

Winner
Mahindra Thar - For reimagining desirability, resurrecting a legendary icon and raising the aspirations of an entire nation in a depressing, written-off year.

I'm going against the tide and voting for the 5th Gen Honda City. A solid well engineered sedan with good safety features even in the base variant. And if you compare the pricing with compact crossovers it feels very vfm.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Looks like Audi India has given up on India where BMW and Mercedes-Benz are posting growth. They haven’t shown any interest in new cars and the prices are obnoxiously high.

It is seen in the past years as well!

Well here the Q3, Q5, Q7, A4, A3 were still present so can’t blame the A5 here.

A6 the only FWD premium sedan saw mere 4 votes.

2020 Car of the Year voting is still on but the Q2 has 0 votes.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

I have not driven any of the new cars released this year due to COVID-19. Based on reviews here and elsewhere I voted for the Thar

The Magnite comes a close second for me due to disruptive pricing combined with a feature packed car.

Surprised to see the Honda City and the Hyundai Creta going neck to neck, thought that Sedans were passé.

I'm not sure if I've said this before, but I think GTO should hold off his vote till the end of the poll. It is isn't really a ballot if an influencer announces his choice right at the outset. It's just basic psychology. I've noticed that his choice for the COTY usually ends up being the winner. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I do not mean to ruffle any feathers.

Voted for the Thar!
No other car evokes so much emotion!
It looks greats, performs great and it’s safe too!
No other car can match it’s Charm, no matter how much best selling it is!
It has overshadowed everything else maybe not in sales but in terms of interest it surely has!
Had to be Thar !

I see most votes for the Thar - but that is an enthusiast vehicle and not for your John Doe. Voted for the Sonet.

The Father of Thar BD sir, would be smiling from heaven seeing the Thar lead in the COTY race. Something which was a mere experiment for M&M and designed on a shoe string budget a decade back, is now the desire for many.
