re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for Nissan Magnite, as it is the only car on the list that's priced sensibly, and one that I'd consider buying.

My wife wanted a Red Thar Convertible, but we did the number crunching, and couldn't aford it, so we chose to get nothing instead.

Though I am now in two minds as to pick up a superbike, or a Magnite XE.

My vote goes to the Altroz, simply because Tata has set new standards in this segment thru this car, whether its the design language, safety or the general build quality of the car. On the other hand, I can understand the overwhelming votes for the Thar, something very unique. And even the Thar, I think it does deserve to win, but the vehicle seemed a bit niche, not for everybody kind of car, so at least in my mind its not the car of the year. But if does win, and it looks likely that it will, it would be well deserved.

Nexon EV, a decent electric car for a start. This is the way forward.

Voted for Thar.

It may still not be practical enough or a misfit in case of a single car garage but it sure has caught everyone's attention. I may never buy it but would always love to drive one.

Really close choice between Nissan Magnite and Mahindra Thar, as personally, those are the only two I would put my own money down for today. Surprisingly, I see both of them as a second car, where the Magnite will be a sensible choice financially while the Thar is sensible when comparing service/repair. In the end, went with my heart which resonates for the Thar. I believe that my generation grew up with MM540s everywhere and always saw it as the ultimate go-anywhere vehicle, the new Thar has managed to keep that hope alive while adding some practicality to it.

Voted for Nexon EV. Big step, forward. Seemingly, right direction, too.
One for the Indian Auto sector!

Voted Nexon EV. They've nailed city usage at an affordable price. Also thrilled they did this as an Indian manufacturer. The Chinese have much more depth in EVs but they are priced out of our market as of now with MG's EV.

I am looking forward to EVs on Tata's newer platforms.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Wow, what a tough poll to choose from. Unlike the last couple of years where I had to choose an option even though I was not a 100% convinced, this year any one of the following could have got my vote:

Creta, City, ZS EV, Carnival.

I eliminated Creta and City because they were good cars in the previous avatar also and hence was a tad easier for them to improve.

ZS EV and Carnival are serving needs that were unmet/ had monoply before they were launched (at the respective price points). It was extremely hard to choose, but I then voted for Kia Carnival because this may well be the last year when I am voting for an ICE car.

My vote goes to the Nexon EV...A brilliant effort that not only gives a credible alternative to the big guns but at a price point far lower than even ICE cars in the same segment. Well done Tata!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for Nexon EV.

After taking the test drive of one, I am hooked to the clean pull and acceleration the car has. It is nothing compared to the cars which I drive now. Yes it maybe leagues behind other EV cars, but this is the only mass market EV car in India (atleast according to the price segment). I have booked a Nexon EV, and after we are out of the Corona woods, I dont mind this being my one and only car. There is always rental options/parents car for that odd long trips!

My vote goes to the 2020 Thar and quite deservingly so. No other car has rocked the automotive scene like it has this year.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Was confused between the Thar and Nexon EV, my vote finally went to the Nexon EV. Tata has showed that EVs can be made on the same platform as ICE cars and has done a very good job for a first generation product. Some owners are reporting 230kms range after the recent update, high safety rating, compact enough for city drives, not too many niggles and all this around 15lakhs is excellent considering it is only the beginning. Looking forward to EV launches in 2021 and beyond.

Votd for Thar

If the old one created a stir, this new one created a tornado. What a car when compared to the old one. Even though I didn't get a chance to see it up close, there's a lot on the road now.

Great styling, much better interiors and great off road capability.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Last years Car of the Year was the KIA Seltos. I bought the Hyundai Creta, which I believe is better than the KIA Seltos. But I did not vote for the Creta.

Voted for the Nexon EV. It has presented a first affordable EV with a reasonable range and with desirable looks. I think this is the first practical and potentially mass market EV in India which is also reflecting in the sales. Well done Tata!!!!!

My next choice would have been the Harrier Auto, but it is not in the choices.
