No the independent ones are not accepted by the RTO. You need to get the plates from the RTO/vendor appointed by the RTO which will make the plates and the windshield sticker along with it and stick it to your cars. A simple way to know is that most of the aftermarket/ independent" HSRP style" plates are just put in the plate holder or screwed in. In comparison the actual HSRPs are fixed permanently with a rivet.

Hi Everyone,

There is a rule in Gurgaon and Delhi that the traffic police are imposing fines if the vehicle does not have a high security registration plate (HSRP).

I have my vehicle registered in Noida RTO. After confirming with the Maruti Dealer (Vipul Motors, Noida), the Noida RTO have not started implementing HSRP.

Is there any problem if I drive in NCR. Any Noida folks who are facing the same dilemma?

Any idea if I can still get HSRP of Delhi registered vehicle in Gurgaon? I think 1200 is ok considering the hassles involved specially for Delhi HSRP, it is easier comparatively for HR26 HSRPs.

My car's number plates are slightly damaged and I want to get them changed.

I am not sure if the golf course road place is still doing it. You could try going there on a weekend morning.
There is a huge accessory shop near sector 14 called BOBs auto mall who said they do it for 2000. But I didn't ask for Delhi plates. You could call them .

I don't think that is possible, considering Delhi has nominated specific outlets according to the number plate series.

Thanks. I read some posts how people got replacement HSRPs.

It is too much of hassles like FIR, visit to RTO (IP Depot in my case), then go to Timarpur to order HSRPs. Once they are ready, again go to Timarpur to get them fixed. I am finding it very difficult being in Gurgaon.

I wanted to find an easier way but I guess that's not possible.

In my case, here is what happened (Gurgaon Number Plate):

1- I called up the Nexa showroom from where I had purchased my S-Cross requesting them for help in getting an HSRP. They expressed inability to do that.

2- Called up another Nexa, who would do it for a 1000 Rs. I was ok with that, but they insisted on seeing the car and the original RC. They were right in asking for this, but I could not make a trip there for various reasons.

3- Thought I'd try my luck and went to the listed HSRP center near Rajiv chowk. There was a 5 minute queue to make the payment of Rs 5xx (only cash) and submit the documents. I was told that I'd get an SMS once the plates were done, but I didn't get any intimation.

4- On my way back I noticed a queue with at least a 100 people waiting for the plates. This was scary.

5- The queue above scared me and I did not go to get the plates for about 3 months.

6- Finally on a drizzly evening at 5.15pm sometime last week, I checked and to my utter surprise there was NO queue at all. I walked in, got my plates, got them fixed and I was out within minutes. I don't know what changed or whether I got lucky with the rain.

Gurgaon is definitely easier.

In fact, for my HR-26 car, I booked my HSRP online at hsrphr.com on 22nd Jan. I needed to upload some documents and make payment. Got the receipt and hopefully, it will be ready in 2-3 weeks.

This is also for replacement HSRPs. Plates on both my cars have faded, so wanted to replace them.

I guess, I will have to live with faded plates (on otherwise 'like new' DL registered car) for few more weeks/months.

I got my DL9C registered car done in Dwarka. Same process, but it was definitely easier than Gurgaon. Not crowded and the plates were done in 15 days. SMS communication was also good.

For Gurgaon BHPians, there is a Mahindra First Choice outlet on Golf Course Extn. Road. They are taking booking for HSRPs. Charges are:

For Gurgaon Cars - Rs.1200
For Delhi Cars - Rs.1800

If you already have HSRPs and you want to get them again because they are damaged/faded/stolen, re-issue charges are:

For Gurgaon Cars - Rs.1500
For Delhi Cars - Rs.2000

This is for information only. Pay them at your own risk.

Dear All,

Completed my HSRP number plate fitting today for HR-26. It took me exactly 7 days from booking to fitting. Avoided online booking, instead had to visit twice, once for booking & today for fitting. No ques. Docs required: RC copy & identity proof copy on the day of booking. Charges was 600 odd INR. You can have plastic plate holder fitted with an extra 450/- INR on the day of fitting, its not compulsory.

Only one authorized company is doing this procedure (rest all are broker).

Link Utsav Registration Plates Pvt Ltd. Goggle it to get more details.

You can have all queries answered on this no: 1800 270 2709.

The HSRP stickers on wind-shields are coming with a color coding as per fuel type. Mine being petrol, its Blue.

Cheers
Sail

As per Delhi RTO website, Rosmerta ventures Pvt Ltd is the official vendor. As per their rate charts, set of HSRP plates for 4W is Rs. 213 only. Booking can also be done online.

Only caveat is you need to go to your respective RTO Rosmerta vendor where vehicle is registered. In case you are opting for HSRP for first time, you have to get the vehicle details from RTO for approx. 200rs first and then go to HSRP vendor with ID proof, RC paper and vehicle details. Plates arrive after 7 working days.

The prices quoted by some team members is really high as compared to government stipulated rates.

All rates of HSRP are clearly indicated on all regional RTO websites.
