I thought I was the only one to question the thread's existence. This thread gave me a very good understanding of what colours the Indians prefer. Anything other than Silver or White is considered to be unusual.

I think we should have a separate poll on "What colours on Indian cars are unusual to you?"

Guess the discontinued paprika orange of Maruti Celerio needs a mention here.

Adding the Hyundai Verna pre facelift version to the list.

2007 Swift in Ocean Blue shade

My first car and I got it preowned, so didn't have choice of the color. It sure looked good and different from every other swift on the road, made it easy to locate it in parking lots too.

But I cant say I was proud or connected to the exclusiveness of this color, rather it used to create its own inconveniences - tinkerers took more time ( and money ) to match the color, and even when I was trying to sell the car, I used to constantly hear 'very odd color saarrr.. not many will like this shade'!!

So for my new car purchase, didnt want any more experimental colors and had to fight real hard at home to settle for a neutral shade .

I remember back in the early 2000's Fiat had launched the Palio with this orange shade and was one of the most seen colours on the roads back then. However, the ladies never really liked the Palio for some reason and more so in this colour shade

Oh. Brings back memories of more than a dozen road trips. We had an Exotic Green M800 in our family for over 15 years and coincidentally was the car in which I learnt to drive. I sometimes miss it. What I don't miss was the lack of air conditioning, safety and terrible headlights. But it served us well.

For a thread talking abour unusual/rare colour options Orange coloured cars seems to be popping up way too frequently.
Why is orange even considered rare or unusual now. Almost every manufacturer has an orange/orangish colour options for their many models.

The A-star in our family is also "Orangish-Redish", although MSIL would like you to call it "Sunlight Copper"

After owning the Sunlit Bronze 2007 Swift 1.5, it was time to get another standout machine. This time it was the Copenhagen Blue MG ZS ev. This is a pic after a good home wash.

Maruti 800 in Phoenix Red. Still wondering how my dad chose this color for his first car way back in 1999. But, it looks new and fresh after a wash IMHO. 😀

I remember a "henna green" (that's how Maruti called it then) color for Maruti 800, Omni and even Esteem. 😮

Along with this was the "Reddish Blue" (purple) shade offered on the first gen Zen which was quite popular in the 90's. It was for sure a head-turner and featured in quite a few movies as well.

We can rename this thread to "Indian Car Colors" because except White and Silver or let me rephrase other variants of White and Silver, I see every color listed here. Not sure what is unusual here.

With time taste of consumer changes and it is reflected by every car maker tries to attract buyers so "Unusual" is subjective here. E.g White Ferrari is unusual, since most of Sports car are Red or Yellow to attract Customer's attention.

I couldn't think straight for couple of hours after seeing this Yellow shade in a Tata Tiago..... In fact it doesn't look that hideous in a picture, but in real world, this is a turn off for me.
