This month's ACI says that Skoda India is planning to remove certain features like anti-roll bar because the cost of Fabia will be much more with such "features". They have internally marked Swift for benchmarking the prices.

Ok it seems to be good car...So are they planning on launching the car any time soon...Its been quite some time since they told that they trying to get a Fabia into India.
I am also looking to buy a car this year.....It should be a good car to buy if they launch it any sooner.....
Wat do u think the car will be competing against.
1. Swift
2. Getz
3.Fiat Punto ( So when are they planing to release this car )
That should be a good car to buy as well.......

i'd expect airbags, abs, esp, interegrated stereo and maybe rear disc brakes.

looks like a worthy buy for around 6L for petrol and 6.5L for the diesel anything more you can shove it! i'd rather have the swift!

however good the skoda diesel might be..... i dont expect it to be miles ahead of the DDiS in the swift. the only reason people would consider the skoda would be -

1) brand image
2) better and bigger cabin

The wheelbase is about 70mm more than the Swift, while the length is about 300mm more. So, dont be mislead by the overall length as such.

See this picture.

The rear legroom doesnt seem too overwhelming (although better than Swift, i guess)

Now where does all this space go? The huge cavernous boot is almost twice that of the Swift.

And, One more thing:
Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi starts at 9,825 in the UK. And Swift 1.3 DDiS costs upwards of 9,799.

AND, In India, how much more we have to pay for the same?

thats what i said "crazy driver", the legroom would be more than swift as its wheelbase is more than swift and 70 mm does make quite a lot difference. even skoda laura's wheelbase is around 70mm more than octavia, but it has made a lotta difference. even getz's wheelbase is just 60 - 70 mm more than swift. and thats what i said, that fabia's legroom/interior space wud be as good as getz.

The cutout for HU looks like its bigger than a double DIN. Might need to source the HU from Skoda to make it look good.

A Combi? Does that mean they have a sedan version as well? I'm a little confused here. I thought the (New) Fabia was a small car, compareable to the Swift.

The older Fabia as I remember was a car midway between the the Logan and the (old) Octavia. Maybe Skoda is planning on bringing something in between the Fiesta and the Octavia.

You mean the Combi body at ARAI is the new Fabia Combi (or is it the previous generation Fabia Combi?)
