Default Re: CKD cars: How old is too old for the CKD kit?

Mfg. date is the date when the car takes its final form & comes out of assembly line. Individual parts may be manufactured at any time before at different points in time. This is true for CKD & domestically produced cars as well. Only that time lag between parts manufacture & car assembly will naturally be less in case of domestically produced cars. You need to look at only the assembly date which is the car mfg. date. Kit mfg. date doesn't really matter.
So your car was assembled in India in Jan. 2020 & it is not clear what it was doing all this while from Jan to Nov when it arrived at the dealership.
I would stay away from such a suspect irrespective of the discount.
