Call me heavy-heeled, but I actually like the incumbent logo; let alone anything being wrong with it, it was actually quite classy, with elegant typography that gave it a distinctly European masquerade. Crucially, it was instantly recognisable. The new one looks like a cipher from a wannabe sci-fi flick. Despite allowing for the initial shock and resistance that is only too normal when humans are presented with change, this icon seems to have roughly zero chance of becoming iconic. One thing, however, I will say is that the logo does befit the typically over-styled and complex front- and back-ends that the Seltos and the Sonet sport, and the general appetite for garishness that the auto industry appears to have developed (even the otherwise tasteful Germans being no exception, churning out revolting grilles and bloated bumpers). I guess the present is nothing if not reflective of contemporary public taste, and the future – well; it's just complicated!

I kind of like this new logo. Looks very very modern to me.

Kia seems to be trendsetter and have been working hard on their product line-up to make it look European compared with its boring previous-gen Korean themed cars. Kia really has an upper edge in car designs over their parent company - Hyundai, and now even KIA's logo looks super cool compared with ugly Hyundai's logo.

Compare the new logo with most of the new logo's unveiled in the past few months, and this one really looks transformational.

I like the new logo. Reinvention is always a positive sign. Wish them all the best to make vehicles safer and add value to its customer's life.

Wonder if 2021 cars, in India, will have their new logo.

Off-Topic: The logo unveiling ceremony was a pretty grand show, I guess none of the companies has put such a show, just for a logo refresh.

This logo does look sleeker than the previous one and really aligns to the design language of the current generation products. Let's see how it pans out for KIA with these set of intangible assets.

I don't know what to make of this branding revision. To me, a brand is defined by the product it is offering. After the initial euphoria with the Seltos, we are now witnessing what the brand KIA is about - cost-cutting, poor QC, and probably unsafe but rather costly cars. Unless something is done about the products, no amount of brand revision is going to alter the brand image, IMHO.
All this is coming from a KIA Sonet owner, so, I'm not a fanboy of a rival!

That's a good way. I will however point out that the horizontal bar added to 'A' will suffice and the dot for the 'I' is not required. From a production perspective, a single piece badge is desirable - both from efficiency and cost perspective.

The new logo will also be seen on Kia’s upcoming midsize MPV, which is set to arrive by February 2022. Expected to match the Mahindra Marazzo on the size front, this new MPV is likely to borrow features and 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the Seltos.

Remembered this thread when I saw these pictures of Sonet delivered with new Kia logo, if anyone still interested it's shared in one of the Facebook groups that I'm in and this Sonet belongs to Kerala.
