By launch I think they just mean the price reveal which will still happen on 27th. The vehicle availability for test drive was earlier told to be 4th Feb but now seems to be advanced to the weekend.

you are right, had a word with dealer again, he said by launch he meant test drive, lol:

Got off on phone with the Jeep Andheri West showroom guy, he has informed me that the price announcement is on track for 27th Jan at 11 am.

He has also dropped a hint that Diesel AT Model S would cost 34 lacs OTR Mumbai and Limited at 31 lacs, for 3 lacs difference one would get the ventilated seats, driver and passenger memory seats, 9 speakers + subwoofer Alpine audio system, and 360-degree camera set-up along with 10-inch cockpit display.

Facelifted Compass Sport variant spotted.

Is Model S the equivalent of the trail hawk version?

I believe the current top of line 4x4 diesel AT is 29L on road mumbai and the equivalent model would be approx a Lakh more. I had assumed that would refer to the S trim. Is that not the case. Would S sit a lot higher than the current top of Line diesel AT?

Taking this figure at face value, with horrendous road tax in Bangalore, S would be within kissing distance of base Endy around 38 lac

Not really, i guess S would be equivalent of Limited plus with more features, missing rock mode and trail rating

4x4 low, digital instrument cluster, rock mode, a different suspension setup, and an offroad-specific body kit that had better arrival and departure angles made TraiHawk different from Limited Plus. 4x4 low and digital instrument cluster will be present in the S variant of Compass now. I think the S variant will be a new top-end variant and the Limited Option variant will become the equivalent of the current Limited Plus. Also in the Chinese market, TrailHawk is sold as a separate variant that looks different from Compass ( just like the current line-up in India ).

This was about the connected car features and a bit about Jeep Life app.

I am planning to buy the new Jeep Compass but confused between buying Petrol or Diesel AT, as I stay in Delhi and not sure what surprise NGT may throw in next couple of years, especially for Diesel.

Can the current Jeep Compass Petrol AT owners help share their City Driving mileage here for my understanding.

As per that SA, Train Hawk will be launched later and it is different variant than the range-topping model S.

Let us see, price announcement is less than a day away.

Hi Kapil, i have a petrol AT for close to 2 years and have done 0ver 16k kms till now. Like all turbo petrols, the Jeep compass turbo petrol is sensitive to the way it is driven, and this causes wide variance in efficiency figures due to driving style.

My overall fuel efficiency over the 16,000 kms has been around 12 kmpl- mix of city and highway drive, around 65:35. City mileage hovers around 11 kmpl, highways goes beyond 13.5-14 kmpl. I would believe i am in the top quartile in the Delhi-NCR trailraider group when it comes to mileage. I have shared my driving style in a past post in the forum.

10 kmpl is definitely possible for most folks i think. Aggressive drivers will get lesser.

Thank you, Achyutaghosh. That answers my question and clears lot of air.

I’ll mostly be driving in bumper to bumper traffic from Delhi-Gurgaon and vice versa. I’ll be happy if the car can return 9-10 kmpl, given the size of the engine and traffic conditions as my driving style is a bit sedate.

I used to own a Palio 1.6, another car known for poor mileage, and used to regularly get 11-12 in Bangalore and then in Delhi. I think driving style is a lot to do with the kind of mileage one gets.
