re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Curious to see, How MS will place the name Urban Cruiser in place of Brezza. There is not enough space to place 12 letters as compared to 6 letters in Brezza.

So, this time around, I guess we can expect a slight redesign for Urban cruiser.

My version of Urban Cruiser :

The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh-brezza.jpg

Recently, Toyota has filed a trademark for the name Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder could be Toyota's version of the 2022 Maruti Brezza.

If that's the case, I assume they will place the Hyryder nameplate in the place of Brezza without any modification, As it has only 7letters. Or, a complete redesign for exterior and interior? Let's see how it goes.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

In one of the leaked images, it appears homologation date to be 1-Jul-22. Is there any chance for the vehicle to be released earlier?
I'm planning to take a compact SUV early next year. Can someone comment if they know the market release date?

-Will use a more efficient version of the 1.5-litre petrol engine

Maruti is expected to improve the efficiency levels of SUV.

with the updated SUV set to get features like a sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, paddleshifters (for automatic variants) and even a sim-based connectivity suite that will add connected features like geofencing, real-time tracking, find your car and intrusion detection. In order to make the new Brezza more upmarket, Maruti will not stop at just improving the features list, but will also look at drastically improving the cabin, and usingd higher plastic quality used all around the new dashboard and cabin layout.
Prices for the compact-SUV are also likely to rise.

The front looks like a mere facelift. Since they seem to be keeping the body shell intact and not moving to heartec platform we can atleast hope it has the same crash test rating as the current one.

All the action will be inside with a different set of tail lights. Scoop pics do show a better dashboard, I really hope it comes with a proper Toyota Hybrid and not a Suzuki Hybrid. It's high time the big T who are just minting moolah on badge lifts gives back to Suzuki it's due.

Paddle shifters, a decent auto-tranny, cruise control, 6 air bags atleast in the top model are on my list of options which I hope we get to see. Combine this with the Toyota promise of reliability and the Suzuki promise of fuel efficieny is what will make the Brezza a much better package than it is.

Wow!

The images are getting closer and closer to the current version of the Brezza in the front end.

it is starting to look like a simple facelift. Hopefully, the insides are improved a little. The marketing team will sell this as the all new model anyway.

It is not a simple facelift. It is a completely reworked car but on the same platform as current Brezza.

Looks Fortuner-ish.
Brezza is one solid car so if they can modernize the interiors, this car can reclaim atleast some of it lost glory.

Went to a maruti showroom today. The sales executive mentioned that the launch would be in Jan. Seems highly unlikely though. He mentioned that current gen Brezza has no stock. Maybe a marketing gimmick.

re: The 2022 Maruti Brezza, now launched at Rs 7.99 lakh

Assuming that Maruti deploys its SHVS system on Brezza Petrol how much fuel efficiency gains can we expect?
Also since SHVS is also based on a lithium-ion battery, I guess it would also need battery replacement after 4-5 years and the cost would be 50-60k. So how much does one stand to gain over a medium term, say 5 years?

From what I heard from Suzuki India contacts, it is true. They just don't have components to make cars. The opportunity sales loss is more than 2 lac units it seems. Infact even the Wagon-R has a waiting period now it seems.

1-1.5 kmpl difference. If you go through my XL6 thread, someone I know had the Li Ion battery removed from his Ertiga when it suffered flooding. He reports a mileage difference of 1-1.5kmpl and some loss in bottom end grunt when compared to older days. The dealership in fact installed another battery to check if the pep loss is due to battery or some other factor.

Also service life of Li Ion battery is expected to be more than 7 years. MSIL gives a warranty of 5 years on battery, so they also expect it to last longer comfortably.

You also need to know that the lead-acid battery used in SHVS cars costs significantly more(Rs. 4500 vs Rs. 6500) than the regular batteries.

How much does a replacement Li-Ion battery cost for the Ertiga?

(Also, can you link to the thread-post if possible, please?)

The last time I checked, it was around Rs. 56k. The discussions regarding the same is scattered on my ownership thread: Link (My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review)
